Flann O'Brien's is a great place to go for a drink and/or some food when visiting the Silom area in Bangkok. It is airconditioned so offers a good break from the outside heat. Drink prices are reasonable and there is no soliticing or hawking so you can simply relax and enjoy your drink. Western food is offered on the menu... More

For those who like the traditional Irish Pub atmosphere, this is a nice little "oasis" in the middle of the swirling Silom district. The western food is up to standard and the service is good. It seems that lots of people drop in here after 5:00pm to cool off. Most patrons drink beer, but as a wine drinker I also... More

I came here by accident in need of western food. Currently in China Town which is two stations by MRT. Staff here are excellent. Steak prices are pricey but they probably have to pay import price(I.e.: this is land of pork or chicken). Had a lasagna, not the greatest but excellent after food options in CHINA TOWN. They accept credit... More

I'm a regular here, enjoying a beer or two once or twice a week. However - noticed today that the happyhour prices have been changed from 100 to 110 bath/pint for the regular beers. Might be needed to new the shop running - but sad to see. Else - I agree with others great place to enjoy a drink with... More

It has an excellent crowd and awesome beers. The live music every fridays by the Bangkok Beatles is breathtaking. I was in Bangkok for two months and O'Brien's was the most frequented place by me. A big chunk of the expat crowd and the locals sway on the music there. You can enjoy a game of pool on the first... More

I usually visit Flann's about once or twice a week as I live in Bangkok and look for places with good service and a friendly atmosphere. As I always visit in the afternoon, I cannot be a judge of the music or the night life there but I do recommend it for a cold beer in the afternoon and it... More

Had a couple of beers and burgers for lunch with friends. We were not very impressed by the quality of the food but it was ok for the price in BKK. Probably thr next time would stick to the beverages as there are better burgers around.

A good pub to visit for a beer or a Guinness, sit outside and watch life go by. I hadn't tried the food but it looked good from what I could see. Staff are friendly and does happy hours drinks. TV's situated inside and outside to watch whatever sport is on, mainly football. It is conveniently located in Silom Road,... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
