Having lunch at the Colonial Bistro is like stepping into a different world away from the hustle of the Silom area. Bright white old colonial home turned into a restaurant, offering reasonable Thai lunch specials. Note: the portions are small, but delightful, and mostly spicy. A great place to enjoy a calm lunch or go with colleagues for a celebration

Very good fusion of Thai and European cuisine. The service suffers a little because English among the staff is poor- so unless you speak Thai- make sure your translate app is working. No wifi even though they advertise that they have it.

This is a nice restaurant located in Business area. We went there with my aunt and she ordered steak for me and my husband. We have been living in Europe for so long and can tell that here is the nice place to eat steak. This place is cozy and lovely, nice place to hang out with friends, family and... More

This restaurant begs and gets the award of the worst restaurant I have been in over last 20 years across 25 odd countries - and I eat at restaurants on an average 2-3 times a week. When I went there for the first time, I thought it was an outlier incident - after all the location is good. But then... More

My partner and I shared a lovely, romantic dinner here over a year ago, after being fortunate enough to read a rave review in a Thai Engligh-language newspaper. The food was exquisite and very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated. So when we were in Bangkok again recently with 2 friends we were thrilled to be able... More

Went to this place today and have never experienced such slow service of meals. Waitress was fine but after 50min of waiting for my lunch it was time to get up and leave for next meeting. Wish I could comment on food but unfortunately did not get to try. Seems ridiculous that they offer lunch menu in the business district... More

As the owner of Colonial Bistro, I would like to apologize for what happened and for the time you wasted. Our explanation as I investigated after you rejected the Chicken pesto crepe dish is there was an technical error with the printer in the kitchen that did not print out the order at the manner of time. When the waitress... More

Beautiful Elegant Restaurant in the heart of Sathorn district. We found it by accident, thought it was a nice coffee shop until we went upstairs to the beautifully furnished dining area. Thai and Western food is good quality, professional friendly staff. A breath of fresh air, like this place very much.

The interior design is nice. The atmosphere is very cosy. I order fried Kway Teow with Karaage chicken. Such a good menu!

Dating back around 100 years during the reign of King Rama VI, a crystal-clear canal ran through Sathorn Road surrounded by shady tamarind trees. Colonial-style houses with Western culture's influence could be witnessed along both sides of the road. After years of disappearance, Colonial Bistro has returned to life offering home-made authentic Thai cooking, yet with the perfect blend of the Western taste, reminding us of the harmonious Colonial and Thai cultures in the old days.

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
