Seeing the incredible range of reviews for Escapade and having passed by it many times, I was finally motivated to give it a try. I almost never give a "terrible" rating for any place, but this one truly reaches epic lows! If possible to give zero "balls" I would probably opt for that. What's wrong with this place: - It's... Brought here by a local friend to try the black burger. The owner is downright rude and frank, but I would think that he's just got some dark humour. Don't ask for a fork or you'd be given a garden fork, and ketchup is forbidden here. For the food, I think it's quite good considering the price!

With a convenient location in Phra-Arthit Road right in front of the fort nicely lit at night, there is this little funky bar that happens to make hamburgers. Don't expect a restaurant. But the thing is that they KNOW how to make them. You get what you get, but it's good, and original. We had the lamb burger with chocolate... More

Burger was just ok.. not that special. Food was too expensive. It 's almost or the same as the hotel price. Terrible service!!!!! They don't care the customers. Not worth to go.. The owner, he has a big ego. Terrible experience for me.

black bun is signature ingredient here and also black ketchup. patties were perfectly cooked, juicy and taste great. if you a real food hunter who pays no attention to dirty venue or impolite servers and owners you should pay a visit for burgers and their special menu

Hot Dog was good & spicy (ordered) Place is underground-style but.. gin tonic (x2) = 1100 bahts come on guys if you need the money keep concentrating on your food stuff and you will succeed but mixing a (good) gin w/ tonic isnt so much art to keep this price for real..

Everyone knows Thailand is famous for its smiles, and generally Thai people are warm and friendly towards outsiders. To those of us who live (15+ years), we know that the smile is often only on the surface. But who cares if you get good service, right? Well, here they have decided to stop faking it, and they are just outright... More

Got to go twice during last visit to Bangkok. Wow! Their Bloody Mary is made from fresh tomato juice and spiced to perfection. Each drink is hand-crafted and one is made to feel like a celebrity. (They also do great non-alcoholic drinks.) Their lamb burger, on a black bun with Swiss cheese and dusted with cocoa is to die for.... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
