Disappointing, those looking for a true Thai culinary experience keep away from this place, only hygiene in line with European standards is appreciable. Three different dishes but with the exact same flavor, ultimately a place with very high prices where you can eat in a...rather cheap way Deludente , chi cerca una vera esperienza culinaria thai si tenga distante da questo locale , apprezzabile solo l igiene in linea con gli standard europei . Tre piatti diversi ma con lo stesso identico sapore , in definitiva un locale con prezzi altissimi dove si mangia in modo piuttosto dozzinaleMore

My partner and I are staying at a hotel down the road from Thipsamai. We saw the long queues over the past couple of nights and our sheep instincts took over :). We managed to get in within 10 minutes this evening (Monday night, 7.30pm,...straight after a rainstorm which probably discouraged people from queuing beyond the canopy!). We noticed that several dishes are shown on the displays outside, but we were only given a limited menu… all good as we planned to order Pad Thais anyway. I ordered the standard 150B Pad Thai and my partner was upsold a 500B version with loads of crab and other seafood (which I was glad to assist him with finishing). The standard Pad Thai was good, but the noodles were a bit claggy. The accompaniments (beansprouts, green veg, peanuts, lemon juice, sugar, chilli) are served separately, and it’s a bit hard to know how much to add and to distribute them through the clump of noodles. Glad I went, but I must admit I’ve had a more enjoyable Pad Thai in Melbourne! Very good service and the fresh OJ went down well, with lots of chunks of orange in it.More

Used to go here everytime I visit Bangkok (which around twice a year). Due to the pandemic it was my first time back since they renovated. Went there for Sunday lunch only to learn that dine in is only starts at 5pm. Had to order...take out. Greatly disappointed. The pad thai was just okay. No longer came with the usual sides (banana heart) and they would not even give me extra nampla. I miss the old thipsamai.More

The long queue to get a table suggested this was going to be good! Once inside the staff were so friends and helpful. We ordered 3 pad Thai dishes. All were delicious. Full of locals which is always a good sign. No alcohol served

- Totally overrated. The signature pad thai is as good as the one I ate for lunch in the night bazaar in Chiang Mai. - Too touristic. They sell it as a local place but is like going to the Planet Hollywood of the Pad...Thai. - Service is very nice but the room manager is a bit rude. He doesn't hesitate to speak in Thai in front of you to the waitress in lower voice to tell her blablablas about the guests. - They didn't let us pay by card, only cash. We needed to go to an ATM. - They deactivated the google reviews.....🤔More

Staff were very friendly. Clean environment. Open kitchen so you can see the fresh food and chefs cooking. The food was delicious, I had the vegetarian Pad Tai. The orange juice is worth a try although an acquired taste. I would recommend a visit if...you are looking for places to eat.More

We ate at 11pm, no queues but we were not sat in the main restaurant area. The menu (to our surprise) is quite limited, but we both ordered the Michelin starred and recommended dish with fresh orange juice as our drink. The food was incredible...- can’t fault it, if you like good pad Thai and seafood this is THE place to go in Bangkok. Unfortunately, I found a dead/cooked beetle in the dish but the staff were extremely apologetic and took the dish off the bill and gave me a souvenir as an apology. Besides the beetle and the limited drinks menu, a gorgeous place worth its reviews with fantastic food and great fresh orange juice. Will not be going again - but glad I went once.More

I am not a fan of Padthai. But i went there with friend from the fame . The taste of the meal is good but not the best Padthai in my mind. :) It is a bit sweet for me. The price is issue which...is ways to expensive in view of local. However, for visitors i think it is reasonalble.More

Not great, overhyped. I went to their branch in Icon Siam, small queue but it waiting duration is fine about 30 mins and we get a table. Try out their pad Thai, its nothing fancy as the pad Thai got wrapped around a layer of...egg which makes it look yummy, this dish tastes sweet and portion is small and cost 140 baht. Will never go there again.More

Being a foodie, and after taking cooking lessons I had to try this birthplace of Pad Thai, taking the dish from home kitchens to great recognition. I had the Superior, where the noodles are wrapped in a paper thin omelette rather than having the egg...mixed in. It was good, though could have used the bite of a little more sour Tamarind. All in all, I found it a very good experienceMore

We've been in Thailand 2 months now and just had the worst Pad Thai of our entire trip at Thip Samai - bland, and a tiny portion. Our guidebook sent us here, which took some trouble. I'm not sure if the guidebook is completely out...of date, or the writer was getting a kick-back.More

Great pad Thai—surprisingly sweeter than any other I’ve had in Thailand (or elsewhere), and delicious. However, while the pad Thai is yummy, I think the hype is due to the history of the original owner, Thipsamai, who came up with the idea of using Chinese...elements in her recipe. That has given her legendary status among Thai, who promote this restaurant to anyone who will listen. Pop stars, prime ministers, and all sorts of celebrities have their pictures on the walls of this place. By all means, come and enjoy a great pad Thai, have a cup of their coconut slurpee, and sample their coconut milk ice cream (tastes like mango with sticky rice sanz mango)More

I visited here (yes on the back of a Rick Stein Far Eastern odyssey!) and the hours it took trying to find it was worth it! Incredible pad Thai. A truly authentic Thai experience and easily the tastiest pad Thai I had in my life....My latest trip to Thailand was, as usual full of incredible food but this was a highlight.More
