Nice taste and big serve

First impression of this restaurant is kindly service from owners then we can pick several foods of them with acceptable price. There was so large serve for us that we can done it in one plate. That was good! I love it and also their taste are originally Italian taste.

Don't miss this place on the 1118 Highway between Doi Saket and Chiang Mai (on the side heading into Chiang Mai). You'll need to slow down. There's a flashing light and a red, white and green sign welcoming you into the parking lot. Allegria Bistro is as much a community as it is a restaurant; the people who you meet there are most often regulars (like me) exploring the reliably superb quality of the varied menu. After you order, you are automatically served with Italian salsa, which you wouldn't think has a great range of quality, until you eat here. Between the moment your order is placed in front of you and you take your first bite, you hear, 'Bene', or 'Ah!', or 'For tomorrow!'. from the other diners. The meal is invariably delicious. I'm going through the soup menu now, and can recommend all, but particularly the hearty minestrone and mediterranean vegetable items. And if you're up for meat, the chicken cordon bleu comes with the warning, "it may take a few minutes" but it's definitely worth the wait. The cheese and cold cut platter, I thought, might make a good snack after a hard day on the farm. And it was, only, for three people, not one. One guy I see there often orders the pizza Margarita. For me, that will be, 'For tomorrow.'

Great Italian Bistro

This is a wonderful new place for an authentic Italian meal. It is located on the main road to Chiang Rai, about half and hour outside of Chiang Mai city. The owner and chef hails from Puglia and serves a variety of dishes with new specials every month. The ravioli spinach ricotta in truffle cream sauce was wonderful, as was the Italian sausage Pinza (which is similar to a thin crust pizza but made from 5 different flours instead of just one). Friendly service and great espresso using local coffee beans. Would definitely return here.

We were 3 friends who heard good things about Roberto's place. We were blown away. Everything was excellent but I must highlight my black fettuccine in crab sauce. Wowee the sauce was incredible - thick with chunks of crab, akin to a boullabaise. Later I found out the crab had been freshly poached and peeled by hand. I expect this quality in a swish 5-star restaurant, not a cozy roadside bistro and at ridiculous prices.

Family run restaurant and it's GREAT

Place is nice and clean, food is authentic Italian with an Italian chef/owner. It is a new discovery for me and happy to have found this place. Portions are huge and delicious which is rare.... Menu is great and covers everything. The owner and his wife do a perfect job of looking after their guests and it makes a big difference in the dining experience. Strongly recommend you give it a try as it really is a great experience with excellent food!

Allegria is the very definition of a trattoria, humble with a big heart. Roberto in the kitchen producing homely high-quality Italian cuisine....his partner Dao front of house, welcoming with her quiet smile. Gnocchi, home-made sausage, squid ink pasta in creamy seafood sauce mmm....also try the Pinsa, allthe goodness of pizza on home-made foccacia.

Huge portions of made to order Italian dishes. Everything is fresh and served in an orderly setting, and prices are reasonable. I eat keto but had no problem with several fish or chicken main courses. The tiramisu is to die for!!!!

Small restaurant but a real wedding favor, very cozy thanks to the Italian Owner and his Thai wife. Thanks to their origins you can enjoy both REAL Italian cuisine and Thai cuisine. We ate rigatoni with tomato and basil and really top pork balls. We had no idea we would find “our” dishes so good in Thailand. If we happen again in Chiang Mai in the future, we will return to this restaurant definitely.
