We visited this restaurant whilst in Chiang Mai. The food, location and atmosphere all 5 star plus. But the best part is the mission of the owners in teaching the under privaledged younger generation from tribal and criminal back grounds to become part of this restaurant. These are your waiting staff for the evening. As customers you are part of... More

Unfortunately contrary to the popular reviews we didn't have a great evening.. I think we did have a trainee waiter but our order arrived incorrectly and very spaced out for a group of 6 (Rice arrived 10mins before main, some had finished their main before the other dishes arrived). Granted the manager did give us free Rice as a courtesy... More

Dear Sophie, thank you for writing your review so that we can explain our stance to the rest of the Tripadvisor community. We are of course saddened that you had a disappointing experience dining with us but if I may say so, I am even more disappointed in your comments and feedback. I am ironically glad you said you will... More

My wife and I visited Paak Dang on consecutive nights in November. Many previous reviewers have mentioned the founders of this restaurant, Singaporean siblings (Lin & Jin). The restaurant was set up as a social enterprise and is on its way to delivering all of the culinary and social goals that they set themselves. The food was great - portions... More

Owned and operated by a sweet couple who both speak excellent english (they are not from Thailand). Located in north side of chang mai near the river. The setting is really nice, outdoors. This is one of the cleaner restaurants in Chang Mai. They employ underprivileged young adults who are actually excellent servers. As for the food, the portions here... More

This restaurant has been one of the highlights of our trips!!! Friendly staff and owners who ensure that you're catered for!! The food itself is delicious and mouth watering! My husband loves hot food and the main chef advised us to have this particular dish but we didn't order it, however the chef made it and asked him to taste... More

A restaurant set up to train and support young Thais in the hospitality business, but don't assume it is anything less then professional. Sited by the river it is a good meeting place to have a few drinks and a good meal. The food and the service are Lboth excellent. Definitely worth supporting.

A quiet and nice place to gather with friends. Food was prepared with care and thought, seen through the presentation and taste of the dishes. A great place to dine with staff tending to your needs with a smile always =)

A little ways out from the better known riverside eateries, Park Dang is well worth the little trip. Set in a lovely garden on a picturesque stretch of the Ping river, this restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner for two, as well as a relaxed gathering with a group of friends. The menu features a wide variety of traditional... More

Our group of 10 pax came here for dinner. Everybody was very pleased with the food. It was simply delicious. The servings here were also huge as compared to some of the other restaurants we have been to. In the end, we have to pack some of it back because we cannot finish the food. The services from the staff... More

Description
Set on the Ping River, Paak Dang offers a beautiful dining experience in a 2 story Lanna Style Teak Wood house. We serve authentic Thai food that will tickle and tantalise the tastebuds of both the Thai local palate and our friends from all over the world. The open concept kitchen run by Chef Pay and led by Chef K-Jin offers a full Thai menu with something to suit each and every single person. Chef Pay will also be able to cook up something on special request subject to the availability of our ingredients - all freshly bought from the local markets daily. Paak Dang has also been set up with a mission and vision - to provide employment to the less privileged from the neighbouring villages and hilltribes and currently has a team of more then 20 staff catering to a 60 seat restaurant. With a wealth of experience between them, the owners of Paak Dang, K-Jin & K-Lin both work hand in hand to equip their staff with many important life skills. Open for dinner daily with a serene and beautiful setting on the Ping River. Reservations highly recommended for the best tables by the river. Come see the sunset, enjoy the tranquility of the river and have an unforgettable dining experience at Paak Dang.
