My partner & I visited jok sompet twice while we were in Chiang mai. We appreciated the 24 hour service as our body clocks had us up at 4am looking for breakfast. Good, quick service. Very cheap. We tried the congee with chicken. Its a must try when in Chiang mai. It was something different but wouldn't get again. Roast... More

We always drop by Jok Sompet for a nice meal when we were visiting Chiang Mai. Highly recommend chicken rice with basil sauce (90 baht). Their fried rice with good too at 45 baht which is cheap compared to other restaurants. And they open 24 hours. Good for any meal of the day.

Great place for breakfast. Star attraction here as the Thai word "Jok" says, is porridge. Pork, chicken and fish porridge, all done cantonese style with or without egg. Much thicker than the average porridge served in Singapore or Malaysia. They also serve noodles (in soup, dry with gravy), rice dishes and my favourite: cantonese dim sum. Dim sum consists mainly... We were staying just a short walk from this place and after walking past a few times and noticing it quite busy, we decided to give it a try. Pro's: - Food was really cheap - our meal and drinks cost 100 baht for two egg fried vegetable rice and two orange juices. - Food was tasty Cons: - Staff... More

Restaurant is a bit run down and not very 'organised'. Staff is just ok ; service is a bit slow. Apparently some food is good, depends on what you order. I'd tried their 'jhok' (rice porridge) and it was good and tasty. Prices are reasonable.

I come here because many people in this place recommended to taste. This round for me order seafood mush and tim sum (Chinese food) I was feel disappointed cause it useless not delicious and it's expensive! Did you imaging mush with 2 shrimp 3 octopus and 3 fish the price, 85 bath. By the way price it's not everything. The... More

Chicken Kraprao rice and 'Joke' are very delicious. The chicken is big and soft. Really recommend this place!

We stumbled onto this restaurant because the young coconut pudding in the cold display caught our attention. (Once you discover this authentic Thai dessert, you'll never give mango sticky rice another thought.) The food is great. My pork in tamarind curry sauce was one of the best meals I've had in 11 years travelling to the region. Congee also seems... More

Stumbled across this place without realising how highly rated it was... And we weren't disappointed! We ended up eating here each night of our stay and even for lunch the day we departed Chiang Mai! As mentioned in previous reviews, the staff are not hugely friendly or chatty but they get the job done efficiently! The food... Wow! We tried... More
