A reliable cafe with a good range of quality dishes both western and Vietnamese, and a great spot for tourists to enjoy a clean meal while watching the chaos on the streets below. One or two good Veg/Vegan option such as vegetable pho, salad and french fries and onion rings.

We went to Hanoi Soul Cafe after discovering it when exiting Highlands Coffee which is right next door. The menu looked good, and unlike some on the strip overlooking the lake it did have a huge selection of Vietnamese dishes rather than a combination of local and Western. This is what we look for when away, we have a rule... More

This is situated right next to the lake. There are many young people touting for business outside for the many restaurants over 5 floors, all with views of the lake. You decide by looking at the different cuisine menus before entering and then are shown to the correct floor. We chose this Vietnamese restaurant. It has a terrasse with a... More

My boyfriend and I came here on our first night in Hanoi. Within ten minutes of walking around in the old quarter, there was a storm. We were soaking wet and hungry, so decided we'd check out Hanoi soul cafe for some food and shelter. To my surprise, they sat us outside... I was really confused. Like hello? There's a... More

We had intended to sit in one of the restaurants/ bars on the front of the building so that we could look out onto the busy road below... but as we approached the entrance to the stairs we were approached by a number of restaurant touts... we followed one into the lift but when we saw the place decided to... Stopped off here for a mid afternoon drink. Pretty run down sort of a place but don't let that put you off. Prices are reasonable and there are veggie options on the menu.

We stopped for dinner mainly because the restaurant over looks the lake. We ordered a few dishes fried spring rolls, broccoli with garlic, fried chicken and mushrooms and beef in black pepper sauce. The food is good, but not exceptional although the spring rolls were very good and probably the best dish of the meal. I also had a mojito... More

This is a nice and relaxing place to have lunch or dinner. The mood is very relaxed, as well as, the service. I wouldn't visit here if you're in a hurry, but I don't see that as a downside. There are a few delicious vegetarian/vegan options including Pho and spring rolls. Prices are very reasonable as well. A service charge... More

Other than the view nothing is good. I ordered a beef starter which was actually not cooked in this hotel and it was a packed one. I could see the plastic they used to wrap in my plate. Very poor service.

It's a nice little place to relax in but definitely not one of the better places. It's a strange experience getting into the cafe as you are hustled into the tiniest ricketiest elevator which should fit 3 people at best so 5 6footers was a bit like playing sardines. The cafe itself is a bit shabby but drinks and food... More
