Well, this is a hard one to rate, after a mixed experience. I was taking a friend out for diner to celebrate his birthday and had heard good things about this place, so thought I'd give it a whirl. The 'experience' started with a phone call to the restaurant to book a table. the girl on the end of the... More

Possibly the worst waiter on the planet. Lunch visit and were led to a just va ated table in its unmade state, stains on table cloth etc. from previous diners; there were other fresh tables available. Got no better from there, won't go in to the full details, but very unacceptable service. He should have his mobile phone taken away... More

Our family went for lunch. Really good food in a lovely setting. We had Vietnamese dishes and our kids had western dishes. All were excellent. Definitely recommend.

Clean, quiet but uninspiring. Vietnamese tea didn't have that characteristic 'sugar puffs' flavour but coffee was nice. Spring rolls were nice.

In the fine art museum compound (do not miss the ground floor exhibits of Champa artifacts). Cosy and tasteful interior. Has also al fresco upper floor dining. Service quick and attentive. Vietnamese menu . Very ample wine cellar

If you want to escape Asian cuisine for a bit this is the place to go. We had lunch and my teenage son said it was the best burger he had ever tasted! Great service and a nice atmosphere

We ate here for lunch prior to going to the Museum of War based on TA reviews! Again we were not disappointed! The english was a bit difficult to understand, but we were surprised when the people who ordered their toasted sandwiches actually got them toasted like a panini. The cheese board was actually very good as was the banana... More

After a hot day wandering around the city and the worthwhile Fine Arts Museum, we were in need of some tender loving care. Matchbox provided, being set into the grounds of the museum and treating us very well. Salads, tofu, and cheese platters were well balanced in terms of flavour, and a good serving size. Cocktails were fine. Prices were... More

Monday evenings, The Matchbox, in the grounds of the Fine Art Museum, has a steak and wine offer for 199,000 VND - around $10 or £7. We were the only people at 6pm but the candlelight and the water cascade made a romantic backdrop. Once it ha time to breathe the French red wine was very palatable and to my... More
