Perfect place to weather a rain storm in HCM, very much gotten east coast US craft beer bar vibes. Great selection of local craft beers to sample too. If a beer lover and its raining, its pretty perfect and amazing value!

Fabulous “feel like you’re at your local bar” bar!! Great selection of beers and ciders (from local and non-local breweries). Staff was exceptionally friendly - Duy, Thu & Phuong made us feel like we were back at home!! We just had so much fun with...this crew it was like we’d known them forever after one night! And Duy was great about suggesting different drink options and letting us try ones that were new to us - including a really tasty one called Chanh Muoi! Highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the District 1 area of Saigon!!More
Visited with friends for drinks and enjoyed sampling a flight of craft beers from a selection of local breweries (I could choose the beers I wanted). Nice chilled atmosphere and music.
many surprises around every corner in Saigon. But this is one of the better ones. Thanks Duey for the lovely crafty dark ales. V unusual game hadnt seen before shuffle board. Great burgers too. Will soon be back. But maybe next time your happy hours...prices might be a bit more alluring - lets see. 10% off is a good bit less attractive than most places @ 50% being the normal. Could be v good for business. see you all soon anyway. I wont come at happy hour. Regards, JosephMore
Great authentic grills: - ribs and wings were juicy and tender - cheeses were melted to perfection - corn on the cob was large and juicy Nailed 'em all. Nailed the accompanying sauces and veggie dips too. Brunches: - benedicts, pancakes, burritos, avo toasts, brioche,...sourdough, English muffins, refried beans, patties, guacamole... whatever you've missed about Western breakfasts, they've got a-plenty options of them for you to choose from. - might get crowded on the weekends so come early? - plenty of drinks to make this your regular watering hole Takeaways/Delivery: - Never disappoints. - Well packed in mostly paper/foil packaging. - Always piping hot despite traveling a distance. Also good for: - pies, soups, kiddy food and drinks.More
I wanted to write a review of Malt South in District 7 but unfortunately I cannot find it listed in Trip Advisor. Knowing that Malt is a sister restaurant of Malt South, in D1, I decided to write the review here. Malt South is a...place to which we go regularly, with super friendly, welcoming staff and it is usually at least half full each night which gives it a great vibe. We very much enjoy the pork ribs, especially with the corn on the cob, salad and the coleslaw. I must say that the coleslaw is the best tasted anywhere. Malt South also makes a delicious spicy cauliflower dish as well. In addition, my husband loves the prawns in chili and garlic sauce which he says are wonderful. Finally, another favourite of mine is the chili con carne on fries. There is a slight sweetness to the meat which I don't particularly like but a few extra chilis and generously added salt soon takes care of that. The fries are crisp and tasty. The only concern I have had is sometimes in the past this dish has been a little warm as opposed to hot, or the French fries have been hot but the meat just warm. However over time of asking if the waitress can ask the chef to send the whole dish out piping hot, it is now to a supper hot temperature on a regular basis. The wines there are very good, especially the Italian and the frozen Bellinis are the best in town. It is a treat to pop into Malt South from time to time.More
When I was there recently some guy in his mid/late-20s (who acted like he owned the place) lit up a marijuana joint in the outside seating area. There were other customers nearby who were bothered by this and it is understandable. Normal people do not...want to be poisoned with marijuana. The smell also stays in your clothes until they are washed. The waitresses knew the guy was smoking pot. She acted like it was completely fine. It was obvious but she did nothing. It was also obvious the kid was a regular. I was shocked and disgusted. If I want to be around druggies I'll hang out at Bui Vien. Public consumption of drugs is totally not acceptable in this area of Saigon, not to mention being very illegal. Note to owner: if you want druggies and degenerates as customers, you're doing a fine job. But if you prefer higher-class patrons, you are far off the target. A place does not have to be ritzy to be frequented by upper income clientele. The most important thing we seek is a safe, decent place where no illegal activity is permitted. I don't think that's raising the bar too high, or is it?More
A very unusual pub in the City - sort of like a British pub. They had a great selection of different beers on draft. Recommend a visit here.
We loved coming to Malt. The staff are really friendly and always smiling. They have a great selection of beers, our favourite was the Jasmine IPA. We had the Beer Fries, which are delicious. The Chicken wings are SO good and we enjoyed the meatball...sandwich with tomato soup too. It's very relaxed at Malt, and the front patio is a good place to sit and watch the world go by.More
Great selection of craft beers, a good atmosphere and pretty decent food....delicious Beer Cheese fries!
At 6 pm I was told to move table - not asked - as a the place was filling up Had I have been asked properly of course I would have obliged, I chose to leave. The service is poor there is more to running...a good bar than a line of tap beers. The Bar is popular but I think the staff have an attitude. There are choices a customer can make and I won’t be going back.More
We apologize our staff did not get the request across properly. We took this to heart and been providing training. We had a big party reservation that night. Being hectic was no excuse. We could have service you better and we will if you ever...More
Good selections of beers, great bar bites and good service. Nothing to fault. Jalapeno poppers were awesome.
Lovely drink but bit of a weird experience with staff who weren’t willing to accommodate four of us on a smaller table. Had to move tables about ourselves.
Almost two years after I paid a visit to Malt, it was great to see that it was alive and well, and pretty much the same as I can remember it (in a positive sense). Situated in the heart of central Saigon, it's a great...place to check in to escape the heat/humidity and dabble in some craft beers and some great food. I returned as I missed trying the Reuben Sandwich on my previous visit and it was not to dissapoint. The sandwich is literally piled with home cured pastrami on rye with swiss cheese, sauerkraut and sauce. It comes with a side serving of chips and unfortunatley, my only gripe with the meal was that the chips were 'stone cold'. It is airconditioned inside and has dart boards and a shuffleboard and is worthy of a visit for either a drink or something to eat. And as mentioned, the fact that it has remainded consitent over the years is great to see.More
I have visited both Malt and Malt South in Phu My Hung. Management and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great selection of beers.
