Probably I haven't read the description of the restaurant carefully enough. But I expected something totally different. Food was all right but much too fancy for me (I haven't expected a fancy food rest) and not that arabic style what I would think from that name. Service was so so. Nothing special.

I love hot/chilli food. I asked for the Vindaloo at Alibaba's and the waiter advised that this is their hottest dish and asked if i'm sure i wanted it... I said that i did..... wOw that was a hot Vindaloo - he wasn't lying! It was delicious though! My family and our friends all had much milder meals and they... More

On 15 Dec. 2013, I went to Ali Baba restaurant and was surprised to see it closed. The signage had been removed and the shop facade was covered with plastic sheets. I think it has been permanently closed. So sad as Ali Baba is one the earliest if not the first or second Indian restaurant in HCM city. The owner... More

I've eaten at this restaurant several times, either on my own or with friends and each time has been great. The staff is always attentive and the food has been consistently good. I've eating at other Indian restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City and this one is one of the best! It's a little more pricier than some other places... More

I was having lunch today, and ordered lamb bryani n lassi (salted). Waiter confirmed with me that bryani was dum(mean meat cooked in rice). But when lassi n bryani came, I was shocked and disappointed with fried bryani (broken rice instead of bismati rice, as stated on menu) not to mention that it was not dum bryani. Lassi tasted bad... Walked in during our last night in HCMC. What attracted us was that it served halal food, as my friend is a Muslim. A large menu, lamb was tender and the food was very tasty. Prices were reasonable, no regrets.

The food was very nice. Although a bit expensive. We had north Indian vegetarian food, and the bill came to 30USD for four people. The service was fast and very good. Definitely worth a visit if you like Indian food.
