Finding Tinh Gia Vien wasn't easy, it looks like a normal house with no obvious signage. Once you've found it you select from one of 3 set menus. Here each menu is based on the old imperial cuisine. Each menu has 9 dishes, which I believe because the emporer believe 9 to represent long life. You'll also find each dish... More

I was there with friends. They were accommodative to adjust the food based on our food dietary preference. The food are simple and mainly fried with nice decorative. We could not finished the set dinner. Nice experience but will not come back again though.

After a disappointing lunch at Ancient Town we decided to spend a bit more and go to Tinh Gia Vien. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience set inside a small garden with a pond and lovely lanterns hanging from the ceiling. It's almost like a home. The waitresses were welcoming and wore lovely costumes and hats. The food was stunningly... More

We love this local hidden gem restaurant that offers unrivalled food not only in great taste but also for its supwrb presentation like peacock elephant tortoise all carved with vegies in Imperial Vietnamese style. We sat under the shade of the ground floor of the house not far from the old palace in Hue. The restarant holds its fame for... More

As part of a tour we were cycled (bicycle with a seat on the front) to this restaurant for an evening dinner. Set menu provided Vietnamese food that was prepared with flare. Actually it not only looked good but tasted great. We were starving after walking 6 miles that day - most of it in the rain. We ate under... More

There are only set menus without much choice. Nicely decorated and kind staff but expensive. The location is quiet in a small street.

place looked fake from outside but we were hungry and stopped. well dressed lady invited us to the table, then she offered fixed menu for 15$: I felt like fat cow about to be milked. she then offered the menu for locals but was too late, one tentative of ripoff was enough and we left.
