We visited Millie's on the Fourth of July, wanting to give ourselves a tiny bit of an American Independence Day celebration. The atmosphere is like many American small town restaurants -- cozy, clean, and bright. It was raining that day, so we didn't see anyone...sitting outside at the tables, but that looked like a good option too. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and fries. What I got wasn't exactly what I'd expect in the US, as it was open-faced. But it was tasty and filling and the fries were hot and not too greasy. My dining partner enjoyed his juevos rancheros, which he said he'd had there before. We spoke with the very friendly owner, a Mongolian woman who started the restaurant 25 years ago with her Cuban husband and an American friend.More

Average food. Average service. The soup of the day which was the only soup available - said to be vegetable soup but tasted like curry. Omelet and apple pie : all ok but just average fare.

It was a pleasure to see Daniel and the Millie's team again after three years away from Ulaanbaatar. The food is as wholesome as ever, with delicious refried bean burritos a particular favourite of mine. The helpful, friendly staff are also very efficient, and the...waiting time for food is only a few minutes. It is therefore unsurprising that Millie's remains so popular with both ex-pats and locals alike.More

This is one of the oldest restaurants in Mongolia to start selling foreign food. This is a popular spot for foreigners. I came here to try their pancakes. Their pancakes are the second most tasty pancakes you can get in Mongolia. The atmosphere was relaxing...in the morning. When in UB, a visit at Millie's Café is strongly recommended! Millie's café is among the very few places that get top scores in both service and food quality, ...and the coffee is among the best you can get, -outside of Italy :-) Don't miss...it!More

As in any city around the world one will find hundreds of restaurants. Ulaanbaatar has in excessive of 300 different eatery through the city. Some are great, while others are not. During my visit to Ulaanbaatar, I had the opportunity to visit numerous eating establishments....One that rate at the top of my list is Millie's Cafe located on the west side of the Choijin Lama Museum arcoss Peace Avenue from Sukhbaatar Square. Millie's Cafe is a modern, well light, clean cafe that service a wide range of food items. Breakfast is outstanding. Eggs, hash browns, bacon, pancakes, toast and coffee are all part of the meal. Outstanding and very filling. The dining room is large with very comfortable table / chairs situated throughout the room. Large glass windows are on two sides of the cafe and allows one to view pedestrian traffic in front of the Cafe. The menu is extensive, and contains a very long list of sandwiches, soups, and other items to choice from. Staff is professional, speak good English and is willing to explain items on the menu to you. Service is fast and the coffee cup is refilled as needed. Price are moderate. Strongly suggest a stop by for a breakfast or late afternoon sandwich. Hours of operation: 0800 - 2000 Monday - Saturday / 0900 - 1600 Sunday.More

Restaurants come and go and you can have a great meal one time and a year later everything has changed. So far NOT Millie's Cafe. I have never had a bad experience here at Millie's dating back more than several years. The staff are the...greatest. Daniel the absolute perfect host. A very complete menu. I enjoy the ambience so much, windows on two walls with good natural light and an open spacious feeling. I enjoy visiting (sitting to the right just inside the door) after a light lunch (tuna sandwich with salad) and out of the way writing post cards to friends. Keep it up Daniel and staff.More
