For me Veranda is by far the best restaurant in UB. i visited the place 4 or 5 times at different time of the year (summer and winter and believe me that a very important parameter in UB), was there either for lunch or dinner and i can tell that every meal i had was just perfect: tasty, savoury, and perfectly cooked.
I would recommend the Moroccan soup, the steak salad, the T bone is a good choice, if you fancy a pizza just go for it it's also one of top 3 best pizza in UB.
Please think about booking if you plan to go for diner as the place get busy very often, also if you want to have a nice evening at the jazz club downstairs ‘’the fat cat’’ (booking is mandatory) you can also enjoy the food from this restaurant.

First visite to Ulaanbaatar, so I started exploring the surrounding of the Shangri-La Hotel, La veranda is just a couple of minutes walking from the hotel, and I would say it's a hidden gem, the place is just amazing: quiet, pleasant, menu is really good (you'll come to know that choice is very limited in Mongolia when it comes to vegies ).
Service was a bit slow (but this is maybe me actually used to super fast service in places like Dubai ), but the food was so fresh and so tasty.
I had a nice lunch on an extraordinary sunny day in UB.

I am a regular at Veranda. The beef is genuinely good, pizza not bad at all. Kindness is quite the signature of the place. The menu is frequently updated, I cannot vow for many of the interpretations of Mediterranean cuisine... but they are creative. Good value for money.

The environment is quaint and elegant! Wait too long.....serve at least 45 minutes! The hotel is very central, but not very easy to find for the first time. The price is moderately high, the waiter's attitude is too inefficient.

Waited for 20 mins for anyone to take my order but no one came. I tried to signal to one of the waiters also no one sees. Everybody was busy with existing clients and wont make time with new customers especially if you’re not white. They wont bother. I was actually looking forward to have my last dinner in UB there but yeah thanks for making it easy to say goodbye.

If you have looked at any of my other reviews you will find that I was not impressed with Zoma,which is also a Mediterranean restaurant.
Veranda is one of my local friends' favorite restaurants. If you have trouble deciding on a dish because everything looks good, then you know you are in a good restaurant!
They offer antipastos, all kinds of pastas, risotto, steaks, pretty much all good choices.
I actually ordered a pizza, they offer thin or thick crusts, they have a meat lovers pizza but also a couple vegetarian options like Margarita.
I order a side dish of fried mushrooms. You never know what you are going to get here, it could have been deep-fried, or just a dish of sliced sauteed mushrooms. It actually came out like a salad! It was fried mushrooms with greens and cherry tomatoes, warm, nicely seasoned and served in a bowl.
The waiter was very good and didn't hover but was there to take away dishes at the right time.
Here in Mongolia many restaurants take a really long time to bring you your food, not at Veranda!
Really nice atmosphere, nice furnishings, very elegant dining room, very clean bathroom.
I really enjoyed my lunch and highly recommend Veranda.

This restaurant used to be one of the best places to get pasta. Now, Ulaanbaatar has many other restaurants that make as good or better pasta. The environment is nice and romantic. Visit my Tik Tok page at mongoliafoodie for my recommendations on places to eat at in Ulaanbaatar.

Pre Concert Meal. 6 friends gathered in a comfortable warm environment. Waiting staff spoke good English and were very attentive. Everything ordered was available and delivered in good time. Great experience.

Never responded to email, messenger, Instagram so how can you be rated #4 when so hard to book. We never went to cant comment on food, but a joke as a business. Maybe they will read this and wake up.

Amazing knowledge of gluten-free, offering GF pasta, GF pizzas and GF desserts (not just ice cream but GF lava cake and GF chocolate mousse cake - WOW!!) Lovely wine list and cocktails, with appetizers to share and wide selection of mains with chicken, lamb, pork ribs and steaks. Service was good not great, but helpful, just a little slow. Very nice ambiance. Oh, the manager was extremely helpful with the menu and all our questions. In English. : - )

Delicious Mediterranean restaurant! For starters got rice balls and they were yummy. Main plates we got Salmon Soup and Ravioli with beef and mushrooms, they were both delicious
