Pretty confusing when you're walking on the street and see 2 restaurants near each other called Sultanahmet Koftecisi. This one has "selim usta" after it. That's the one you want. Good Kofte, low prices. Bread was actually surprisingly awesome and they give you tons!

The food was fantastic, however all they are missing is chicken köfte. Over all VERY NICE!!! Lentil soup and Lamb was the best!

Great Turkish place, simple and tasty. The menu is one pager, so the choice is very simple. The food is rather affordable. You should try it at least once

If you ever visit oldtown , you must eat Köfte at Sultan Ahmet Köftecisi ( caution : its the Selim Usta one not the other Sultan Ahmet Köftecisi ) . I made my first trip to Turkey 12 years ago. I didn't want to eat where all the tourists and white people eat, so I asked my guide were she eats. She told me I should come her, and I wasn't disappointed. So naturally on my trip this time without my mother I wanted to find this wonderful place. I... More

Limited menu all done well. Fast service, reasonable (lower than elsewhere) and mainly a local clientele. This restaurant is only 1/2 block from Sultanahmet Square and just behind the Basilica Cistern so convenient and first rate.

Best restaurant we've been to in 4 days. Not many menu choices but what they make they do well. Lentil soup and lamb kebab were great. French fries fresh and hot. The meatballs okay but not the best we've had. I will come back for the soup and lamb kebab. Oh yeah and one of the cheapest meals we had... More

Sultanahmet kofte is one of the most known and prefered food in town. Especially in the old days ( before hamburger founded😄). Doner and meatballs were the only food available in town on street restaurants. The oldest restaurant still alive is this one. A must try food and a must visit place 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
