In fact the meat there is very good but i dont see it as one of the best 20 restaurants in istanbul. The food there (kabab) is delicious but there are lots of other places much better.

Sultanahmet Koftecisi has a reputation with his superior quality meatballs and "piyaz". Is't nice for lunch and dinner. Quick service and cheap. Don't forget to order an "ayran" too.

This chain is very popular, and you will see it all around Turkey. I went to the original branch in Sultanahmet. Kofte is their speciality, so be prepared for a somewhat limited menu. I had lentil soup, lamb kofte, a variety of salads and ayran (salty milk drink). All were delicious and this restuarant lives up to its reputation!

If one enjoys poor tasting food and very poor customer service, then Sultanahmet Koftecisi is for you. If you want to relish authentic Turkish kebab / kofta then Sultanahmet Koftecisi is not the place for it. This place gives a bad name to delicious Turkish kofta.

An institution in Istanbul. Very popular with locals and Japanese tourists. Menu is basically kofta and small pieces of lamb or shish, both absolutely delicious, accompanied with rice, lentil soup and several salads. A delicious crunchy bread is provided. I always visit when I am in Istanbul and is always a great experience and treat. The locals always end their... More

Menu is quite limited, basic options of meat kebabs or chicken kebabs. Meat was too meaty for me personally. Chicken was good. Be sure to try the salads, really nice. Seating is cosy, try to get a window seat- nice view of the street and people passing by.

Pretty confusing when you're walking on the street and see 2 restaurants near each other called Sultanahmet Koftecisi. This one has "selim usta" after it. That's the one you want. Good Kofte, low prices. Bread was actually surprisingly awesome and they give you tons!

Great Turkish place, simple and tasty. The menu is one pager, so the choice is very simple. The food is rather affordable. You should try it at least once

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
