Took us an hour and a half to be served our drinks! Then the food came after 2 hours without silverware...pizzas were cold, salmon was undercooked and we were comped a bottle of wine. Two drinks never arrived after multiple reminders. Worst place to eat in Istanbul.

Well known spot by locals; has a great back drop for evening drinks and a very relaxed atmosphere. Personally never had bad service; always attentive. Cannot speak to the food as I was focused on the wine.

Clearly a hip and happening place for locals, expats, and tourists alike; a little self-consciously so. Not that the waiters were jaded or unfriendly like they can be at home in San Francisco, but they were a bit "ho-hum". The appetizers were great, the main courses fell kind of flat. The drinks are cheap and the views, well, the views... More

Based on the good reviews from TripAdvisor we went there for a beer but our experience was not good at all. When we arrived there were no available tables so we ordered a beer and waited on the counter. When some table became available I went for it but Mustafa, one of the employees, denied us from sitting because the... More

We went to bar on two days to have a beer. Because we were only two people, service staff suddenly marked tables as reserved and didn't offer an alternative. Better choose a cheaper and friendlier roof top bar.

it is one of the few bars/restaurants with great view which is open on Sunday evening. Pizzas are especially good. I can also recommend Balkon Kofte, meatballs with eggplant sauce and yoghurt. Lynchburg Lemonade is one of my fave drinks. Its view from the top all over the Golden Horn is amazing by the way.

We've stopped in here several times for drinks with a view over multiple trips to Istanbul. The view is great day or night. It seems to be frequented by locals and off the tourist path. Unfortunately, the service during our last visit was less than friendly. Hopefully this was a one time thing as we'd like to go back to... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
