Very tasty food, fish was fantastic! Good choice of beverages, helpful staff They even had a live band. Very cozy place on the one of the most busy streets in Istanbul. Its not a fancy place to visit but if u want to feel a real culture and enjoy some seafood dishes - come here. Its nearly to Blue Mosque

I thought i will have a look at the food, I was cordially invited in and offered a table. I was impressed by the display of fresh fish at the entrance. immediately after i sat down i was presented with what appeared to be a selection of free starters. I was not impressed by them but as a result of... More

Well, Yes we Pakistanis eat spicy food. But, I tried my level best to develop taste of Turkish food. So i tried different options. Kebaps and Koftes are generally good but fish was just ok. By the way this restaurant's environment is very classy. They also have some singers who sing very beautiful Turkish songs.

On a street full of restaurants where they are all pretty much the same, this on stands out a bit. The calamari was excellent, one of the best calamari dishes I have had, there rest of our family meal was less inspiring and one of the meals delivered was not what we had ordered. The price is too high given... More

The food was great, and the band played good music but they were made to wear silly sequinned yellow and blue outfits. The service was awful as well as they could only focus on a family brawl in the middle of the street and only came to us when the thought they were getting a tip.

We had meze which is an appetizer plate and wine while sitting in the outdoor cafe watching people stroll along the cobblestone streets. The wait staff was very friendly, service was excellent, the price was reasonable and they were gracious in providing a complementary dessert. We very much enjoyed our meal.

Despite it being a fish restaurant, the lamb I had here was the best meal I had during 7 nights in Istanbul. My wife enjoyed her mackerel. This WOULD be just another tourist trap, except for the live music. They have 3 elderly gentlemen there, a violinist/singer, a zither player, and a drummer. They wear dumb uniforms, and silly red... You run the gauntlet of touts on this street, which is full of restaurants. Unfortunately we gave in and sat down. The prices on the menu mean nothing, you will pay 3 times that even for the smallest fish. Service was poor and the owner was hanging about like a standover guy from the Sopranos. Avoid this place.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
