They've tried to increase our bill by changing the prices comparing to the menu, so be careful and check twice before paying. Drinks are totally overpriced, at least two times more than you would expect. Terrible service, waiter brought just a single paper napkin with the food and no more. Almost every street bistro has a bunch of napkins on... More

You are in Istanbul but you would felt like if you were in Tokyo. Delicious sushi, friendly staff, but it's expensive

It first called my attention a couple of times that large group of Japanese tourists were queuing to get in this place. Out of curiosity I went to have lunch and found out one of the most original Japanese cuisine in town. The seafood yakimeshi is excellent! Also the ramen is quite something. Definitely worth a visit.

I love Sushi and try to eat it everywhere I go. I was very dissapointed in this place, it's below average, and not serving fresh food. the tempura batter was old, and not crips at all, we ended up leaving all of it. The sushi itself was ok, nothing to get excited about, with the Samlon skin rolls being old,... More

I have been eating at Tokyo since 2008. I come here anytime when I am in Istanbul and craving sushi . Fresh , tasty , almost authentic. great service and overall reasonable prices . Don't hesitate to place a visit when you are in the town .

As I was dining alone, I can only comment on one dish, the chicken stir fried noodles, and they were very good. Clearly fresh, and very tasty. The service was a bit slow and that's the reason it's not 5 stars. They were more occupied with some behind the scenes activity and took ages to bring me my drink -... More

good restaurant to dine with family and friends. Less variety but good options of sushi and sashimi. Quality of food is awesome and wait staffs are also very attentive and helpful.

Really good sushi, I loved Turkish food, but I needed something diferent and the food in the place was prepared with attention to detail and fine ingredients. Liked the experience, they were so kind that even played music in my language. Talking about taking care of the costumer.

Authentic Japanese, it's not. But it does have decent sushi and sashimi and an array of specialty rolls. If you're in Istanbul and seek a bit of variety, you might well enjoy this place. Just keep your expectations modest if you plan to deviate from the sushi-sashimi axis. For example, the wakame-cucumber salad is made with instant wakame, not the... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
