We have been there three people. We liked to have 2 tasting menu and 1 alacarte. Chief Murat Bozok refused that!! Extremely arrogant chief and management. We had some argument to understand but they said our chief's principle not to have different choices like that on a table!! We asked to talk to him but he did not come to... More

Like many others here I kept being amazed at how this establishment was even mentioned with "Michelin star" in the same sentence. Incredibly empty, hallow even, when we arrived. Reception was notable by its absence, we stood around for 5 mins before we were shown our table by our well-intentioned but too-casual waiter. I will say no more than that... More

This restaurant would maybe get a Bib Gourmet if it were 70% cheaper but it is nowhere near a Michelin star, As soon as you go in, there is this smell of dust and mould, like an old theatre and in fact it goes nicely with the curtains but do you want such decor for an eatery where you want... Am really blown away that this restaurant has a Michelin star. While we got to meet and chat with the chef, who was very friendly, the rest of the staff was non-communicative. We ordered a dish that came out prepared nothing like the menu read, and when we asked the waiter said the menu had changed, but he didn't mention... More

We ate here twice last week at the end of a three week excursion through western Turkey and were extremely pleased with our experience. Our terrace table had a beautiful view of the Bosphorus, the service was excellent, the wine list was interesting and extensive, and the food--sea bass and sea bream both times--was wonderfully prepared and the best of... I have been to many 1-3 star Michelin restaurants all over the world, Noma being the last. I could say that I was impressed by the food in this 1-star restaurant - I had the asparagus salad, sea bass with curry and the white chocolate mousse. Of course, the alcohol cost much more than I'd like due to very obvious... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
