This is a typical average Turkish "meyhane". Food is not great but ok, ambiance is clean and humble.

90tl for a small bottle of raki seems a bit steep. Good service, very ordinary food. It's a shame because it offers the simplicity of meze and raki, but just doesn't carry it off.

Very average food, the one you could cook yourself at home after a day of work. Nice staff but overall very disappointing. The guy is surprised to be referenced in a routard book (dated 2011 - I am sure the owner changed). Waiters are waiting in the streets clients that are not coming. To be avoided, and ontop of that... Nicely located, but that is about all good one can say. Main dished didn't come together and the restaurant wasn't even close to full. Starters were ok but nothing special. I had eaten my complete main meal and the other one hadn't turned up yet. After we asked the waiter and it still wasnt there we asked for the bill... More

Not a restaurant. Variety of cold dishes, very small main dishes. Not exactly the cheapest one and definitely not value for money when it comes to main dishes.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
