I've been here several times just to complete tasting their entire Pizza menu! I personally like to drink red wine and the best one they serve is a Kayra Vintage Merlot 2013. It compliments the pizza's flavors very well. They have artists that come and play, sometimes, not very often (I've seen it once) they have foreigners read their poetry.... More

Social Cihangir has 'for sale' poster on window, and room is empty. There is no activity anymore. It's really sad, hope someone will reopen it someday.

the place has an easily reachable location and lovely ambiance. They have nice tea there, but it is mostly to hang out with friends for a cup of tea, for a chat, but not for food. The prices are quite high and you have to wait a while till to be served even in a pretty empty time.

a delicious breakfast, which can also be ordered in the evening. Skilled and very friendly staff, which will ensure that the service runs continuously. Price fixing reasonable and tasty meals.

We went there for a birthday celebration. The food was OK and the prices are comparable with the other neighbouring places. The interior desing is also unique and the place has a great backyard. I really enjoyed their home made lemonade.

I went here twice while in Istanbul. My friend who lives in the city suggested it, and it became our meeting place. The menu is large with many options. The mint lemonade was the perfect thing for quenching my thirst after a day of site-seeing, and both days I was fortunate enough to enjoy the Warm Chestnut Souffle, which is... More

we chanced upon this nicely remodeled restaurant, hearing music wafting out. a duo billed as playing "anatolian blues" captivated us that night... not that easy to find good, local, live music in Istanbul - and here it is.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
