Over the years we have been to Istanbul many times, and since we stay in the Sultanahmet district, we always have a meal at Mosaic. And the amazing thing is that they remember us! That's quite a staff. Whether you eat outside or in, the service and the food are memorable. One of our favorite Turkish dishes is manti, and... More

Very good food with friendly sevice. Well prepared Turkish cuisine. Enjoy your food at a sidewalk cafe style restaurant in Sultanahmet, just off the main Tram street.

Just do it! A great place to meet fellow travelers. I remember sizzling hot plate of delicious sauces and meat, good red wine---just around the corner from the sistern---another must-see and one of the neatest underground watery sisterns---replete with pillars above and carp and ancient statues of Medussa below. Don't forget to look up at both places. A good late... More

Great food, wide menu selection and great friendly staff. Plenty of theatre with the claypot cooking and service. Wait staff, particularly Ali were really friendly

In a nutshell, the food is very good, service is very good, price is reasonable, portions generous, wine pleasant and location great. It's tucked on a side street in Sultanahmet opposite a Turkish restaurants that sells fast and furious wares. Great place to people watch and while away an hour or two. You can eat indoors or out, I have... More

This restaurant is near the Hippodrome across from the Blue Mosque and is on a bustling street. We were seated outside both times that we visited the restaurant. Both visits were for lunch. The staff is very friendly and the service is also very good. One of the dishes that we ordered both times is the couscous with vegetables. It... More

So many Istanbul restaurants are predictable and repetitive but Mosaic rises above them to,offer outstanding flavours at reasonable prices. Eat downstairs in the cold or wet in the cosy bar or outside when it's warm and sunny.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
