Id read the reviews and the world rating for mikla. We were not disappointed though a bit surprised that it made the world top 50. We chose the 3 course menu and its great value. There are many little touches that make for a special meal and show off the kitchen's skills. Before the first course arrives there is a... More

Mikla is probably one of the top three restaurants in Istanbul. Food is excellent, service is great, very friendly staff. The only problem is the tables are too close to each other, you can easily join the conversation of other tables. Excellent view of the city is a bonus.

We had a table with a fantastic view ( just by the look alike Jason Pollock tiles on the wall) Service is great, food is attractive to the eye and rather tasty, specifically the slow cooked lamb. And terrasse view.... well it worth eating there just for your pics album. Expensive but we all need a treat time to time!

A great place to go for a high end, fine dining experience in Istanbul, the city the Vikings called "Mikla gard" (The great city). High end, yet personal service. Modern innovative Anatolian- International cooking. Impressive assortment of International wines, but I suggest choosing a local one. The three course dinner with choices, supports the experience, and is sufficient, as there... More

Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful view over Istanbul. Excellent service (Hakan) and exquisite food. It was a well-thought surprise for me, have never been to such fancy and beautiful place before. I enjoyed every second in Mikla - because of everything so perfect in the restaurant, and of course, because of the company I had. I couldn't decide on the... More

First of all the ambiance and the view were all perfect. All meals were very very delicious and attentive. We ate a la cart menu and liked all. The service was good. You will feel you are at a restaurant which is world's number 51. But.. A huge but:( Tables are very very narrow and you can easily hear next... More

Certainly not one of the 50 best, not even the 500. It's helping that is inside a beautiful hotel and that's all. A good Turkish tavern. Fine cocktails not a very quick service we were very tired waiting between courses! A slight taste of vinigar in all the plates! The bread was exceptional! That meant they have good pastry chef!... I had a wonderful dinner at Mikla last night - awesome innovative Anatolian cuisine. I was served by Mart, great waiter and chose the tasting menu which was an excellent choice. And the wine pairing was innovative and excellent. The food is not only beautifully presented, there are some crazy but wonderful tastes. The slow-cooked lamb that has been cooked... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
