Me, my Turkish fiancee and two teenagers had lunch at this place on last Saturday. The youngsters took 2 köfte porsions (meatballs), cola and ice tea. Me and my fiancee shared 2 appetizers and had 1 large and 1 small beer. As I have been living in Turkey for more than 10 years I looked at the menu aware of... More

Do not go there! A huge rip-off and they messed up a lot of our plates. One of us had a steak which was chewy and bland. I had fish - also bland and without anything on the side, just fish.

A dinner in one of the meyhanes in the Nevizade area is part of every visit of mine in Istanbul. When alone or with my wife I usually go to either the 'Imroz' or the 'Boncuk' in the Nevizade street properly. Since they are very popular, it is not so easy to go there with a large group of friends.... More

They got us by promising us a patio table, which we got, but it was in a corner without any view. They have brought a wrong meal twice and the basket of bread was full of ants. The service did not apologize for any of that and was generally unpleasant. We also waited too long to pay. They charged us... More

The location of the restaurant is good, food is tasty and the staff is friendly. If you visiting that part of Istanbul, you can eat there, you will not regret. But on the other hand I think you can not miss if you choose any other of the neighboring restaurants.

One thing we learned while dining out in Istanbul is know the price of every single thing you order! The biggest learning experience came at this restaurant. We looked at the menu and most things were very reasonable priced. One of the owners came by with a large platter of fresh fish. We ordered two medium size fish for 4... More

Come here if you want to be ripped off. After my visit locals told me that Degustasyon is a tourist trap - Avoid going there.... The service was below average, food was ok, but prices are too high :( Have a look to the left, to the right or over the street

A traditional local fish restaurant is you like to live the Turkish fish and Raki atmosphere . Very typical old type Turkish music by gypsy quartet . Ask for Nafiz , the Cheif waiter , so friendly and would take care of both , the fish and the bill .

Warning : a potent drink that locals love but tourists should be careful with, think Pernot and you'll get the idea !! Actually very nice although don't be tempted into trying the putrid red carrot juice to go with it. Food was first class and the staff were extremely accommodating. Spread over 3 floors with excellent desserts.

It doesn't even deserve one star. This was an unfortunate place to have dinner especially with so many real restaurants nearby. Don't waste your money or time. It defines "tourist trap" by the lackadaisical waiters, uninspired food, and quartet of musicians going from table to table making it impossible to hear. Why it's still in existence is a mystery to... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
