A popular restaurant that has maintained a good standard for many years. Family atmosphere, fine dining and very affordable prices. Beef fillet steak 200 gr costs only 70 NIS.

We went to celebrate my mother's 70 birthday. She is Romanian. It was Tuesday after end of Passover so the place was not full. But they had everything in the menu, everything was fresh and tasty. According to mom, same tastes as in Romania. The...More

Tasty, authentic, family atmosphere Romanian restaurant. Perhaps the best in the country. Nice variety of traditional food. A "Welcome" feeling right from the start. Though crowded on weekends still recommended. Reasonable prices.

We made reservation night before our visit. Lucky us as it's completely full with big line outside. Chile liver, pickles, and of course - kabab. Simple - but great food.

Service is good and the owner is nice, but the food is no more than medium. We ordered a steak, french fries, kebab and salads. We started with the cabbage, which was uneatable. We assumed that it could happen and that we perhaps just don't...More

We go there very frequently, usually for lunch. Sometimes, we take away products and cook them at home. This is one of the best, possibly the best, Romanian restaurant I ever ate at in Israel - and I should know, because I was born in...More

Description
A historical eatery, originally a coffee and ice cream place, today it has retained the name and the outside historical sign, as well as old pictures of Haifa, the restaurant and patrons decorating the inside, but the food is purely meat. The food is fairly simple, grilled meat of good quality, including pork - called in Israel "white meat" - accompanied by chips or grilled potatoes. The only specifically Romanian dishes that I could discover was a soup with pork bones whose name I did not retain and a mixed grill plate, which consisted of grilled cow meat entrails. This last I did order and it was really very nice. For the 50 Shekel the portion could have been bigger though. The restaurant lies in the downtown area not far from the government offices. Big place, not too noisy and accepts all credit cards and offers WIFI access, too. Open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays till 5 p.m. and on Saturdays till 8 p.m. As desert they offer Bavarian Cream or Ice cream. A good wine and beer selection.
