A great choice for our wedding anniversary dinner! The unprepossessing approach and exterior belies a warm and very welcoming restaurant with friendly helpful staff. We focussed on the Palestinian dishes, with great range of starters and mains, including a luscious a flavoursome musakhan. The house red, from upper Galilee, was lovely. Thoroughly recommend.

Maqlooba was what we craved, and all roads led to Azzahara. We were not disappointed by this amazing upside-down Palestinian rice dish. Two servings were perfect for our hungry family of four. Slightly crispy on the outside, richly flavored rice throughout with sautéed eggplant and cauliflower, and perfectly cooked chicken inside, I can still taste it from memory. Fabulous service, beautiful setting, reasonable prices, and plenty of other great menu options. Worth finding your way to this hidden gem.

Today’s lunch for our group of visiting pilgrims in the Holy Land was at Azzahra’s! Can I just say it was amazing! The salads before lunch were fresh, pleasant to the eye, dancing on the taste buds, all very tasty, but the pizza was sensational! The crust, the sauce, the cheese, all very well married together in a delicious pizza pie. The staff was very hospitable and helpful to us. Nice atmosphere and great environment! A gluten free homemade oven baked pizza for those with wheat intolerance was the best EVER, according to my hubby! Go there, you won’t be sorry!

once alzahra’s pizza was the best in town, but apparently NO MORE!! we ordered two pizzas both were very dry maybe stayed in the oven for too long, despite our choise of delicious toppings, we disappointedly found no taste in both of them, the tomato sauce was scarcely there! we ordered one bianca pizza aldo the cream sauce wasnt there…we asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar to put on top maybe it would be tasteful a little but still.. we were so disappointed… it is no more delicious and maybe still the most expensive pizza in town!!! we payed for two … pizzas 160₪ when the waiter asked if everything is good, we told him but he didnt offer to change them.. we told them again when we asked for the check he said you should have said that before! dont bother to go there and spend you money on nothing

We, at the Azzahra Hotel & Restaurant, work hard to keep the balance of excellent food, top service and reasonable prices in check so that our guests and clientele can have not only a pleasant but an unforgettable experience at our establishment. Azzahra Restaurant is most famous for its pizza, "the best pizza outside of Italy", so we are very proud to be the only restaurant in Jerusalem that still serves an original thin crust brick oven Italian pizza of the same quality for almost 20 years and specifically since our Pizza Oven opening from 2003, and which has garnered a great following in the city. Our in-house Pizza iolo, Italian trained Chef who makes the pizza right in front of you, where you can choose from our extensive menu or you can build your own pizza. Also, it is very important to note to all the readers that we only use fresh and house made ingredients and all our guests know that; however, you did not mention to the readers that although it was recommended to you from our staff not to add the ketchup on top of the Pizza and this has definitely changed the taste of the fresh tomato base as well as the fresh cream, but you did. With reference to your review, we are not surprised to read such a review following the attitude that we've experienced from you. Finally, it is substantial to mention that not a single slice was left from both pies. (out of 16 Slices).

We felt compelled to eat some Palestinian food while we were in Jerusalem, and Az Zahara didn't disappoint. On a very quite street in E. Jerusalem, Az Zahara serves delicious local food, with a bonus of pizzas out of the brick oven on the side. Every dish was great, and would definitely go back if we find ourselves in town again. The service could not have been more pleasant, and the wine list, while limited and a bit odd, was still very nice. Finally, Az Zahara is very reasonably priced. Given how eye-poppingly expensive restaurants in Israel are, it's a nice respite to get a reasonably priced meal.

We had a great diner at Azzahra. Nothing fancies, but some very nice thin crust pizza’s. Probably their Palestine food is even better, but after two weeks mediterainian food, we where in for this. And they didn’t disappoint us. To the contrary, after finishing our meals they presented us watermelon and coffee as a complementary service. Very well done!

Delicious salads, local Palestinian starters, bread baked freshly in a brick pizza oven, and, if you are looking for a pizza—great pizzas as well. House red wine is perfect with the food. Only downside is that the cigarette smoke is intense, even in the nonsmoking area. But service was great and they were very welcoming.

Outstanding fare and very generous helpings. Just two courses for lunch - a wonderful array of dips for starters and a main course of lamb cutlets and the add-ons. A nice local dark beer was also enjoyed. I would recommend this restaurant highly.

Delicious meal for 24 people! Fabulous salads, appetizers, and lamb. Breads were excellent. Wines were good. Wish they didn’t have an indoor smoking area… the stench creeps into the nonsmoking areas.
