This is a well-respected restaurant in East-Jerusalem, tucked away in the Arab neighbourhood just outside Damascus Gate - a neighbourhood which visiting itself can be a relief after a day among the crowds in the Old City. I had a late lunch here, and a chat with the owner. Humus and other local food was fine and heartening (stay away... More

You can't have Western, Oriental and Italian food under one roof, because none of them would be good. The smell of fat is everywhere - not only food. The taste of lamb cheese was killed by the old fat. Vegetable soup was based on boullion cube and lamb was very fat.

We went there for dinner every night. They have variety of foods on menu( local food and western type of food). The owner is superb giving us a very good hospitality. We ensure you that the tummy is full after having dinner there. If ever we will come back again to Jerusalem, we will have our dinner to this restaurant.... More

I've been here a couple of times and really enjoy it. The salads are diverse, the pita fresh, and the mint lemonade tasty. I also really like the skewered meat and chips (fries). It is conveniently located near Damascus Gate and the Garden Tomb, though a little difficult to find the first time.

I had a great time at this beautiful, family run restaurant just a short walk from the old city(5 minutes from damascus gate). There is alot of history here. I was shown their brochure indicating Presidents and Prime Ministers have been there including King Hussein and President Carter. I had a delicious, very large sea bass with lentil soup and... More

We found this restaurant on our last evening in Jerusalem. Tucked away in a little arcade, it is well worth the visit. We were a bit late, so we were the only guests, but Mr Zuheir and his son made us feel really welcome. The food was unbelievable - really tasty Palestinian style mezze, with lots of different tasters, some... More

To escape kosher food and falafel try this Palestinian restaurant.Order the tender lamb that is called "roasted" but is more likely boiled.Hot vegetables overcooked so stick to cold appetizers like tahini dip and beet salad. Ask them to toast the pita and put za'atar on it. And request extra lemon juice to use on everything because the spicing is pretty... More

Excellent fresh, hot pita bread. Delicious, mini salads and dips that accent the meal. Fantastic customer service. The mint tea had lovely bright green mint leaves in it, appeared as if they were picked moments before placing them in the water. The lamb was cooked perfectly, moist and well seasoned. There is both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Bathrooms are very... More

I recommend a stop at Philadelphia. After we ordered our meal, we were offered many complimentary salads to try, all of which were excellent! The meal was incredible and we were even treated to baklava and watermelon for dessert. Many thanks Philadelphia! I will certainly be back.
