What happened to this place? We went two years ago on a previous visit and LOVED it. Ordered three bowls of soup for two of us. This visit, we showed up. The front door was open on a cold February night. We closed it but it didn't make a difference--the restaurant had no heat, apparently. We got a plate with... More

This is a very tiny restaurant located 2 mn from Jaffa Street. I like the tasty soups they serve, the laid-back, relax vibe of the place (the ground floor and terrace of an old building on a quiet street) and the friendliness of the staff. The crowd is a mix of students, young people and people living around. Very good... More

Best soup in Jerusalem, can't beat the atmosphere, and the staff is lovely. Popular with locals, which says it all. Not to miss!

The atmosphere is nice and homey The soups and bread are not that great and were served with broken bowls When asked about it, the waitress said it's all like this

Thanks to my taste for a warm soup I have found this jewel. Amazing atmophere, great music, nothing brand new "fancy" like all the burgers, pizzas...If I wanted to run a restaurant.... just like this. First look and I falled in love with this place immediately.

Sometime all you want is a light lunch or dinner. The soups at Hamarakiya are wonderful, filling and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is 'real.' and the waitstaff attentive and helpful. An excellent choice for lunch or dinner.

This restaurant was rustic, cozy and fun. Everything was simple yet delicious. The band that played was fantastic and added to an already fun down to earth vibe. According to the waitress they have live music on Tuesdays but I guess we got lucky with a visiting band from Paris on a Monday.

5 Soups that change daily, a few salad options and dips, wine/beer/coffee. Cozy atmosphere. Excellent service. A hearty bowl of soup is 30NIS ($7.80USD) and comes with fresh bread/butter and pesto. Great vibe.

It felt so cosy and tasty! Despite it was a hot day-in the outdoor area it feels cooler and a soup is exactly what you need. The bread served with the soup was fresh and tasty too. Humus is also good there. And not that expensive at all!
