Great "urban" tacos, at a pretty reasonable price. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. Really busy (long wait time) on a weekend night, but at lunch time you can get right in. Try the Che Putin drink - it's fantastic!

I really enjoyed the chicken bowl (cilantro lime I think) and the chips and guac! And of course, the frozen marg. However, I didn't like waiting almost an hour for the table. Secret's out, this place is delicious, but you're going to have to wait for it! To be fair, we did go at 7pm on a Friday night --... More

I've been to Vatos in Singapore and wanted to give it a try in Seoul on a recent business trip. Vatos has never disappointed and the Itaewon branch was excellent. I highly recommend the Kimchi French fries......a basket of fries covered in spicy Kimchi with cheese and onion......simply exceptional!

Expensive, small portions and pretty much a bland taste. Had the quesadilla, the most expensive ones (man the options were boring) and it tasted the exact same as one that was completely different that I tried too. I suggest you avoid this unless you really want to waste a lot of money on following a clearly blind crowd.

Last minute visit, this place is awesome! Great layout. Friendly staff who took care of every need. Fast service of food and drinks. Seriously the food was amazing! Think Mexican meets Korean Street food. Definitely going back next time

Love the huge space and diversity in options. Whether you're in a tacos, quesadilla or burrito mood - they have it all. Guac wasn't amazing (my standard is pretty high) but that's ok. Got Baja fish, short rib, chili shrimp, and spicy chicken tacos. Would've loved the chili shrimp tacos more if the shrimp wasn't fried. Loved the Nutella nachos... More

I was so happy to see how vegan friendly Vatos is. My first trip I got the vegan tacos, which were really good, fyi they are small so definitely order 3 if you are hungry, instead of 2. The hot sauce that comes with the tacos adds so much flavor. My second time I ordered the vegan burrito bowl. This... More

This restaurant is perfect for a fun meal out with friends. It has a great atmosphere, albeit a little loud. You have to try the kimchi carnitas fries. Delicious! Their drinks selection is great and there is something on the menu to suit all tastes. Dishes are on the smaller side but always end up being filling enough.

Four of us for lunch another recommendation to Vin and another winner! A selection of tacos (3 each), a large salad of leaves, cranberry, Gorgonzola and apple. The salad utterly refreshing after 3 days in Korea. Included a couple of soft drinks. 63,000Kwon ie approx $AUD63. Very smart but friendly service. It appeared all waiters spoke good English in addition... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighbourhood Profile
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
