The most famous bakery was at 35 Talaat Harb and we were staying at 27 Talaat Harb. We passed it at least once a day but never got inside because of the crowds all day, everyday. The ice cream is on the outside but you have to go inside to buy a ticket. On the third day we fought the... More

while you are in Cairo downtown don't miss the chance to try the ice cream , it's the same quality of gelaty in Rome. or try the baklawa which you will feel like you're trying it in Istanbul.

We were staying very close to this place and it was busy all day everyday with locals. One day we tried the ice creams, (50p for two scoops) OMG it was delicious! Possibly the best ice cream I've ever had. It was so smooth and light. We had mango and raspberry, both tasted like real fruit and there was nothing... More

This is a very famous bakery in Cairo, I can see a lot of customers in the bakery everyday. The ice cream is very cheap (5 EGP) for 2 balls. The mango one tasted really like a real mango. The mouthfeel is really different like other ice cream I have tried before in other city. must try and see.

During my holiday in Egypt, my friend asked me to buy some of the birth of the Prophet - Moulid An-Nabi festival sweets for him. I bought sesame brittle from El Abd. I took it and travel abroad. When I opened it with my friend, we found a black part looks like mud attached with sesame! I think they made... More

I love the ice cream here! Best in the world. Very popular bakery and is downtown and always busy. There are no line ups. You have to learn to push through the crowds. But worth it to go and try some of their many offerings.

A better deal or high quality will not be found in Egypt. El Abd is one of the best, if the best, ice cream we've ever eaten. I am not much for fruit flavored ice cream, but El Abd complete changed my feelings. Their mango flavor could stop time itself. This is really the top of what you can get.... More

Nostalgic for these delicious sweets. The ice cream has made our international top 5! Bakery items are delicious. No wonder we saw so many pink boxes at the airport when flying back home :)

Sweets & pastries are delicious, croissants are really delicious and fresh. I buy them for next day breakfast and still tastes good. Ice cream is also awesome. Try this place you will like it.

This tiny place is authentic and has a selection of the most yummy sweets. They will not make your hips shrink and eat too many at your peril. Pace yourself ( I speak from experience) and take a box home. Don't be put off by the queue. It's worth it.
