This restaurant is typical Egyptian, and nothing is too much trouble. Ask to go on the roof at sunset for some magical views (forget the electricity cables !). I have been here for lunch in March 2017 and was here for dinner in May and both times the food has been excellent. They are happy to cook what you want... More

If you're visiting Habu temple or village, I'd recommend the Hapy Habu restaurant. We visited twice, for an evening meal and then for tea the next morning. The manager Moussa was friendly and helpful, and the food was good - much better quality and value than the other restaurant in the village (directly across the street from the temple). We... More

After my tours in Luxor, my guide took me to Hapy Habu for lunch. It's within walking distance of Madinet Habu, which is where we went after lunch. I had Red Sea Fish with tajine (tagine), salad, tuna, and something that seemed like hummus to me. The food was actually very good. There weren't many people in the restaurant as... More

I have been to Hapy Habu several times and can honestly say that despite tourism being so depleted the standard never changes. Choice, simple home-cooked meals with all fresh produce, a delightful gazebo to sit under, Habpy Habu is a lovely, quiet corner just to sit and relax. Medinet Habu temple with the Theban hills in the background and the... More

I first went here 3 years ago with friends ,and returned again last year. It is a relaxing little cafe with lovely staff, with a variety of local dishes and snacks. Its just a 3 minute walk away from Habou Temple ,tucked away in a corner. As an aside, our taxi guy took us just around the corner to meet 3... More

We stopped here in the middle of a busy day on the West Bank and it was the perfect lunch oasis. Lovely tables outside in the garden and a view of the Medinet Habu, good mezze for the adults in our party and equally good pasta for the teenager.

Great place, great food, very cheap, but most importantly best bathroom facilities on westbank! Make sure you sit outside in the covered terrace area and enjoy the garden bit, lots of birds to see.

There's a shady outdoor terrace overlooking the temple as well as an indoor dining room. The menu is unsophisticated but the food we ordered (onion tart and meat-free moussaka) came piping hot - unusual for Egypt - and was clearly freshly made. There were lots of other vegetarian dishes too. This is a good place for a light lunch or... More

Our taxi driver dropped us at "Hapy Habou" on our first day - and since then we had our west-bank-lunch at this place. A small menue (I do not count pizza, spaghetti and the like!!) but all local dishes were properly flavoured and freshly prepared. Everything was clean, no problems with the toilets and the waiters as polite as they... More
