This place came highly recommended by a friend but i must say i was disappointed. The portions served is not worth the price. The food is average too, nothing to write home about. The milk shakes are quite okay though.

An amazing place in the middle of Nairobi. The waiters are very easy going. And the advise for the dish was bulls eye. A Somalian restaurant with the best meat i ever ate. Price of the food is how it should be. Dont waste time searching. Just go and you wont regret.

I would have given Hamdi 3 stars but they get 4 based on value for money. There is nothing that stands out with regard to the mood and ambiance of the place except for the terrace. The terrace has a good view of the busy street down below and you can't get bored sitting there. The portions are large. The... More

Consistent wrong orders. Chicken burger without chicken, boiled meat when ordered roasted and some seriously small portioned food at full price. I would only recommend the boneless chicken from their menu.

What a great relief from overpriced, generic hotel food. The food here is about 1/3 of the price of similar food at a hotel. You can't get similar food though. Don't know of any hotels that serve camel and goat dishes. This is most defiantly not your 5 star or tourist restaurant. The food was good, honest local food. They... More

This is one of the best and most affordable places in Nairobi for Somali food and chai. My favourite is "Arosta" lamb cooked in Somali style. They have a good selection of tea and if you love camel milk you can try it here. This is not one of these chains that are flooding Nairobi with very average food and... More

I have always enjoyed meeting up at Hamdi with friends in the evenings for coffee and occasional lunches while in town or waiting for our movie timing at IMAX across the road. The food is well prepared and staff attentive to serve. I have had good experience exploring their menu and have enjoyed the meals. The management should strive to... More

This review is long overdue. I should have written it five visits ago to Hamdi restaurant. The first time I visited Hamdi was February of 2014, and since then, my cravings for the best Arosta and thirst for amazing smoothies have always been fulfilled there. The variety is so wide; it is a matter of preference which smoothie you order... More

I tried chicken curry, beef steak and pepper steak. They were nice and very affordable. But the beef steak were so tough to chew. The atmosphere is not so good.

Just a bit better than other african restaurants around town. Cheap and a small menu which is good in my opinion. Just one thing I really dislike is the refilled 'Heinz' tomato bottle, in use for almost a year with crappy Kenyan tomato saus.
