I probably got here later than I should because by 12 the place was already full and a lineup formed but having been here before, I waited. This place is famous for its Tonkatsu or Japanese breaded pork loin or filet. You can order a set lunch or off the menu and while some might consider it an expensive lunch,... More

If you are into Japanese tonkatsu, then this is the spot. Everything is done right here, the portions are good and cooked to perfection (not greasy and over cooked). Great view of the harbour as well. Usually a queue during dinner hours, so I pop in for a leisurely lunch.

Very good crispy katsu and very light without the greasiness. The cabbage is also very fresh and even lightens up the already delicious katsu. Would recommend to visit early lunch to avoid a long wait. But waiting would give you that extra appetite to order more.

Very good katsu! Always serves good food but it is also often crowded. Best to go during off peak hours or reach early for lunch and dinner. They do also take reservations.

Came here for a late lunch on Chinese New Year. Tonkichi was impeccably clean, service was efficient. We ordered the tonkatsu tenderloin and loin set which came with miso soup, refillable shredded cabbage salad, and unlimited rice. The meat was perfectly cook, with the breading crispy fried, with no greasy after taste. The pork was done to perfection, juicy, and... More

Spending a night out we were introduced to this establishment by a friend. This is the first time I realised that Katsu curry was not just one dish but part of a family of cooking styles in Japan called Tonkatsu which basically is deep frying all manner of meats and seafood in a breaded coating. I went for breaded pork... More

Got here at 6PM for our reservation, place wasn't that busy maybe half full, but it was sort of hard to flag down someone to take down our order. Ordered the loin and pork filet combo, which was excellent. Also ordered the curry katsu(for my son) which was alright, the curry was meh I could do better but Katsu was... More

Had lunch there on Saturday. The place has nice decor and the staff are pleasant. When I ordered, I spoke in Japanese and the waitress replied correctly so not even thinking I asked for a glass of water in Japanese. Fifteen minutes later I asked again. The girl looked at me with a blank stare and so I tried Mandarin... More

When I visit to HK, I often come to take Tonkatsu of Tonkichi. It's so delicious. Crispy, good meat.Price is a bit higher. But taste covered price.

When you walk into these Japanese tonkatsu places, you might think of having deep-fried pork. But for this restaurant, i have to recommend their beef. It was juicy and tender, and the mustard dressing/sauce complements it perfectly.
