A-mazing setting and menu. Fresh fresh fresh seafood. Pick from the tanks and decide the sauce and cooking style! Only HKG$50 corkage per bottle of BYO (so bring your own nice wine). Smiley happy attentive staff, broad broad broad range of fish and seafood. A fantastic and decadent night out. Once in a while it's affordable. Take the one you... More

Food was good at this restaurant but, a bit pricey for what you get. What I didn't like is that we were charged service charge and the VIP ticket for a boat trip to Hong Kong. This is not a ticket for your journey to Hong Kong but, a VIP boarding pass which means nothing considering we were visiting out... More

always end our lamma island hike at rainbow for the fresh seafood and free boat ride back to central. we had the garoupa two ways with the fillet stir fried with celery and honey beans. belly and head steam on lotus leaves. both cooked perfect, season just right suitable for elderly without too oily and salty. fried squid with salt... We go to Rainbow on Lamma every time we visit Hong Kong and have been there many times, having lived in Hong Kong for several years. So on our recent visit, we landed from London and an hour later were on the launch over to Lamma for our traditional beer and seafood by the water. We were a bit apprehensive... More

We visited one evening in October as a party of 5. As others have commented upon, this is not a gastronomic treat in opulent surroundings. The food is average, the prices quite high and the service to plastic tables/chairs nothing to write home about. However, the 'free' ( no such thing as a free lunch, which is why perhaps the... We though it would be an obvious mistake to go to a restaurant closest to the station, but we made it :(, try not to repeat it. The food is not bad but not great. The prices are VERY HIGH. The staff is nice until you sit down. There is a "SITTING FEE". I did not eat, just waited for... More

I walked across lamma island which was amazing and beautiful. Stopped at the end for some seafood and a nice cool beer. I'd heard about the extra charges for tea and sauces but the staff member said they were mandatory so I had to accept the $16 charge for sitting. The staff were very rude and seemed like they did... Having heard a lot about the Rainbow Seafood Restaurant, we were looking forward to the experience. Instead, what we got was plastic tables and chairs, very indifferent and hurried service and a hefty bill for the pleasure. Maybe it was a worthwhile destination in the past but I suspect one can do a lot better in Hong Kong.

This is one of those which you can pick your seafood from the tanks and they cook it fresh out of the water. We ordered steamed garlic shrimp, steamed garlic top neck clams, and stir fried scallops with broccoli. All were delicious. Prices are reasonable considering this is fresh seafood in a supposedly touristy area. Would recommend eating seafood here... More

While food is truly amazing - the service is lousy and watch the tea (which they just place on your table) and the little sauces!
