Used to be a regular here for weekday lunch as close to the office, and it was a great option. It's always been quite expensive for dim sum and other small plates, which is ok if it's good, but both the food and service have really deteriorated recently. At today's lunch, the BBQ pork was all fat, the beans and... More

20 years ago, when I lived in HK, this was a great place, so sad that the standard has dropped so much, I arrived at 12.30 and the restaurant was only half full, not a good sign ona Sunday. The kailan was served cold, the hoi fun was dreafdul with the beef slices not tasting fresh. The dim sum was... More

Came here for dim sum with 3 other family members at 12:30 on a Friday fully expecting it to be packed and noisy but surprisingly found the restaurant pretty empty and even when it was full of diners later on, found it to be less noisy than other similar dim sum houses. The main reason is the high ceiling. Here... More

Asked about the portion of their porridge and if it's enough for 2 people . A small non committal hand gesture from the captain wasn't helpful so we ordered a bowl each. It turned out 1 bowl was enough for 2-3 people. The captain then said "I told you so" The eggplant and chicken were average Signed for the bill... More

I had dinner at Victoria City Restaurant during my last trip to Hong Kong in November. My frined from Hong Kong recommended the hairy crab to me. I had never had this before. It takes a bit of time to get done with it, but it was absolutely delicious. Service was great, fabulous restaurant!

Went to the branch in wan chai for dim sum brunch. Enjoyed the pan fried rolls and concoction of papaya figs pork soup thoroughly. Pork fans will be happy to know the char Siew (bbq pork) was soft and juicy. Service was good and total bill for two persons came up to about 400.

If you want to try quality meal of Shanghai crab at reasonable price, in a trustworthy shop and place (Hong Kong), you are suggested to have a try in Victoria City Restaurant. This branch in TST east is always not too crowded at night. The service is always good no matter who you are, there is no discrimination. If you... More

We have been to this restaurant a number of times over the past 15 years but went recently and found it has been refurbished. The decor is brighter and more modern but the food is still as good. The goose is the best I have ever tasted anywhere and is one of my all-time favourite dishes. The meat is so... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
