After visiting the Peak and catching photos of the HK skyline, we visited this location of Din Tai Fung. Have been to one of their locations in Taipei, but this location has a nicer dinning room and the food seemed to be better. Various bao zi, spring rolls were very good and the hot and sour soup was some of... More

Top dimsum and other Chinese delicacies in this crowded place. Expect cheap and delicious fresh dim sum. A place to come visit over and over again

Service at this Din Tai Fung was excellent. It's quite a large, noisy restaurant but all food ordered arrived very quickly and tasted great. Would definitely go back.

Taste is similar to branches in Singapore. Soup dumplings, aka 小笼包, actually taste better in Singapore, and we were quite disappointed that 蟹黄小笼包 was not served that day. To be fair, 牛肉面 tasted better in Hong Kong though.

This place was recommended as THE place to go for dumplings! Maybe, back when it first opened but now it's pretty much standard chain-restaurant food with probably the worst service we've had in HK. The first thing was the sour-faced waitress who said was that they could easily serve vegetarian food for one of our party. As it happens, it... More

Came across this branch of Din Tai Fung by accident and, as it was close to dinner time, decided to try. The restaurant certainly lived up to the brand name and all the dishes were delightful and served promptly although this was just before the dinner rush so there were not many people in the restaurant. Tried some of my... More

We love the greens, fried rice is delicious too. And we also think the sweet and sour soup is the best my partner and I have had .. Delicious... But didn't like the dumplings The dough is too fine and I prefer more bite to my dumplings, these just melt in the mouth and don't need to be chewed ....... More

it is a chain eatery. From TaiPei originally. Food is good, but always long line up and waiting period as they don`t take reservations. Depends on how crazy you are going to the ``brand name`` , restaurant is nice and situated inside a nice mall, price is ok, not expensive, not cheap either.

We recently had a wonderful meal at Din Tai Fung. The service is incredible and we sampled a great range on offer. The food is fresh and it was amazing to watch the chefs making the dim sum.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
