There are plenty of food bloggers, food critics, writers on various media: online, TV, newspaper, magazines, travel guides that sing the praise for them more eloquently and succinctly and the way the newer generation owners operate with their sharp business acumen, hard work, dedication to their craft, good inexpensive food friendliness, efficiency this restaurant (now a mini chain) is NOT... Sang Kee's Dace Fish Belly Congee is a must have whenever I'm in Hong Kong. The dace fish belly is so fresh. They are sliced to the right thickness to be tender when cooked. The special sauce together with the fresh cut ginger, spring onion and youtiao enhance the whole experience in this cool weather. Oh yes, sip the milk... More

If you like conee, don't miss this place. You should visit if you don't like congee as they do have fired noodles. Plenty of variety for you to choose your congee selection.

I thought the congee was brilliant. Tastiest congee I've had in ages, I'll recommend the fish and then the beef. We went a couple of times for breakfast, they have an English menu and can get busy on Saturday. Very yummy highly recommended.

This is a great and enjoyable congee shop. There's lots of variety with fish slices, beef slices, century egg. Also has good breakfast menu with noodles.

A stone's throw away from bustling Central is this local favorite. It's great for breakfast on a cold winter morning. The preserved egg and meat congee is my go-to favorite!

Had the congee with pig spare parts. Congee was nice and smooth and generous amounts of ingredients. Wonderful soul food on a cold day.

Very tasty and satisfying breakfast congee. The store name suggests it to be a noodle shop but you can order congee from the menu. There is a wide selection of congee. Restaurant is small and sharing tables is very common. May not be very suitable for big groups especially during peak hour. Highly recommended if you like congee or local... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
