This is a great and enjoyable congee shop. There's lots of variety with fish slices, beef slices, century egg. Also has good breakfast menu with noodles.

A stone's throw away from bustling Central is this local favorite. It's great for breakfast on a cold winter morning. The preserved egg and meat congee is my go-to favorite!

Had the congee with pig spare parts. Congee was nice and smooth and generous amounts of ingredients. Wonderful soul food on a cold day.

Very tasty and satisfying breakfast congee. The store name suggests it to be a noodle shop but you can order congee from the menu. There is a wide selection of congee. Restaurant is small and sharing tables is very common. May not be very suitable for big groups especially during peak hour. Highly recommended if you like congee or local... More

When I visited this place I could easily see a lot of local Hong Kong ppl enjoying their breakfast and,,, my family and I also enjoyed our 'congees' there =)) I think I tried beef congee. (Tho it's been a year already) It was very tasty and I certainly want to go back if I can visit Hk again =))

It's a rainy day! You want a quick meal! What else other than a not-so-quick (coz porridge was piping hot!) meal at Sang Kee? The PURRFECT meal in a rainy day, mingling with locals in a local eatery!!

Good Hong Kong style congee place. They have English menu so I can order with no difficulty. The beef congee and fried fish cakes are quite good, though a little oil. But if you're in the neighborhood, it's a decent choice.

There are two units here. I head for the old section at the back which my Cantonese friends say is more authentic. I am not going to argue. Walk in like a regular. You will be siting next to someone at the tables, its kind of communal. People will be amazed to see a whitey, but they will be friendly... More

This place serve really good congee. I can't say fantastic as it is just congee, but it sure is some good congee. How good is this ? There's another one-star michelin restaurant in town serving famous congee and wanton mee, but THIS is BETTER than that. (by the way Michelin 2016 recommendations is really disappointment after disappointment this year). The... More

Fresh ingredients, smooth congee, plus an aromatic sauce with spring onions and ginger to accompany. What's not to love? Don't worry if you can't read Chinese or speak Cantonese. The eatery has an English menu that's handed out after you're seated. This is authentic Cantonese congee that's comfort food in cold weather. I like the pork and century egg combination.... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
