Bistrot Baron is a so-called French brasserie, offering so-called fine French food, in a so-called French atmosphere. Well, I would say everything about Bistro Baron is really overrated. Let's start with the location : in the lobby of a luxury mall... how could it be less unpersonal than that ? Its location just kills the charm this restaurant could have... More

Nice restaurant with classical French food. The quality of the food is good. Try the steak frites (medium).

We reside in Jakarta and at time we survey different restaurants in the city. That day we went to Bistro Baron for lunch as we did not have French food for a while. My wife ordered a vol au vent for first course and the duck confit as main course, all well presented and tasty she mentioned (but she would... More

Aside from the new smoking room, there wasn't much change. My husband noted though that the new room was against the local regulation. It was fully enclosed. Several tables near the room can definitely smell the smoke. Let's talk about the food. We ordered a salmon dish (with green sauce) and two duck confit. The fish was baked perfectly but... More

First time we went back since the reopening and maybe the last. The welcome bread wasn't fresh, the lobster bisque was way too salty, my steak wasn't as good as before.... It used to be a good place for lunch or dinner. Hope it's just an "accident"

We have been there for the re-opening and i must say I was impressed with the food's quality. All our dishes tasty and in a generous portion. I am not a fan to eat in a mall but if you are in plaza Indonesia, it won't be a mistake to go there. I will be back

Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but the lunch service was very slow and unattentive. Food was better than average for a French restaurant in Jakarta but not worth going out of your way for. Waiting almost an hour for it was definitely an experience that we shall not repeat.

I am a regular at Bistro Baron - regular in that I eat here whenever I am in the city and Plaza Indonesia. Either an Eye Fillet or a Porterhouse Medium to Medium Rare with Gratin Dauphinois (commonly called Potato Bake) and you have the ingredients of an outstanding meal. Add to this a fine wine or a few cold... More

Came for lunch craving their delicious roasted chicken with creamed spinach and brocoli. I was out of this world, I rate the brined and roasted chicken the best in the world and the creamed spinach was a fine side dish. If your in the vicinity of Plaza Indonesia and looking for a true french bistro do try the chicken.
