Nestled in the vibrant Central Business District of Singapore, Altro Zafferano beckoned me with the allure of its rooftop bar and impeccable Italian fine dining. On a clear Friday evening, I made my way to this elegant establishment to indulge in a dinner experience that...had been on my bucket list for quite some time. Upon arriving at Altro Zafferano, I was immediately drawn to the outdoor area, where I decided to start my culinary journey with a refreshing Negroni. The mixologist, Gilber, revealed the secret behind their outstanding Negroni—it's aged for six days in a whiskey barrel, adding a unique depth of flavor to the classic cocktail. Sipping my Negroni while admiring the breathtaking view from the 43rd level was truly an unforgettable moment. After enjoying my aperitif, I made my way inside the main dining room. The interior design exuded refinement and sophistication, yet it maintained a casual touch, evident in the white shoes worn by the formal-clad staff—an amusing detail that lightened the atmosphere. Opting for the 4-course Experience Menu, I eagerly awaited the culinary delights that awaited me. The dining table was thoughtfully set with a welcome arrangement that included Pizzitolo tomato sauce with olive dust, freshly baked sourdough bread from the oven, and Extra Vergine Olive oil from Frantoi Cutrera—an indulgent start to the dining experience. My journey commenced with a delightful complimentary aperitif and elegant amuse bouche, crafted by Executive Chef Andrea De Paolo. This tantalizing combination of Green olives foam, Martini gel, capsicums roll, Toritto almond, Tarallo cube, and tuna cream embodied the essence of classic Italian flavors, setting the tone for an extraordinary meal ahead. The Martini gel added a delightful herbal note, the Toritto almond provided a delicate nuttiness, and the Tarallo cube contributed a delightful crunchy texture to the ensemble. As a wine enthusiast, I paired my courses with a glass of the 2019 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon from Groot Constantia Estate in South Africa. The wine's rich and complex flavors complemented the dishes impeccably, enhancing the overall dining experience. For my first course, I savored the Robbins Island Tasmanian Wagyu Beef tartare, delicately presented with Oyster leaf and Sea Water—a divine combination that left me longing for more. The Robbins Island Wagyu beef, known for its marbling and tenderness, provided a melt-in-your-mouth experience, while the Oyster leaf added a refreshing briny touch, harmonizing impeccably with the succulent beef. The Sea Water creatively introduced a subtle saline element, enhancing the overall seafood-like experience of the dish. Next, I opted for the House-made Ravioli, which featured a unique shape and a thin, perfectly chewy texture. The ravioli was filled with finely minced wagyu beef Genovese and served with anchovy colatura, grana padano fondue, and a consommé of beef and onion. The Wagyu Beef Genovese, made with onions and aromatic herbs, created a rich and flavorful filling, while the Anchovy Colatura provided a savory umami flavor that complemented the beef beautifully. The Consommé of Beef and Onion, a clear and refined broth, tied all the elements together, intensifying the meaty flavors of the dish. As a meat lover, my main course of Very well-marbled and consistent MBS 8-9 Yugo Wagyu Beef striploin in a pizzaiola sauce, accompanied by blue foot mushrooms and pink garlic, was an absolute delight. The Yugo Wagyu Beef Striploin, known for its exceptional quality and taste, was perfectly cooked, and the Pizzaiola sauce infused the beef with robust and tangy flavors. The Blue Foot Mushrooms added depth and complexity, while the Pink Garlic, with its milder and sweeter taste, harmonized beautifully with the beef. A refreshing palate cleanser, the Apple sherbet with vanilla crumble, arrived just in time to prepare me for the splendid dessert that followed. Chef Daniele's creation, featuring Giffoni Hazelnut, Guanaja Dark Chocolate, and raspberry, was a work of art for the taste buds—a harmonious blend of flavors that left me feeling thoroughly satisfied. The Giffoni Hazelnut, known for its rich flavor and creamy texture, brought a luxurious nutty essence to the dessert, while the Guanaja Dark Chocolate, with its intense cocoa notes and balanced bitterness, perfectly complemented the sweetness of the hazelnut and raspberry. To end the meal on a perfect note, I paired my dessert with a glass of Amaro Montenegro—an excellent choice that added a subtle and pleasant bitterness to the sweet conclusion of my dining experience. Before bidding farewell to the table, the attentive server surprised me with a delightful assortment of Petit fours, including Yuzu bon-bon, pistachio financier, and Apple tart with rosemary cream—a perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. Regarding the cost, the total bill came to SGD 280, which I found reasonable considering the exceptional quality of the food, impeccable service, and breathtaking ambiance. In conclusion, my experience at Altro Zafferano was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived at the rooftop bar to the last bite of the delectable desserts, the restaurant delivered an impeccable Italian fine dining experience. The combination of refined interiors, attentive staff, and an outstanding culinary journey left me thoroughly impressed and eager to return. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Singapore, Altro Zafferano is undoubtedly a top-notch choice that promises to exceed your expectations.More
Had my proposal here, with Jennifer helping all the way. All the staff were attentive and very friendly, service is top notch. There is great scenery with nice vibes, recommend coming here for any special occasions.
Granted, it's not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. We were here for my wife's birthday and the staff did everything to make this an unforgettable experience. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and just completely on the ball. The food is just amazing, the...portions have just the right size and the wine pairing suggestion was spot on. Combine this with the views and the entire atmosphere at the al fresco sky deck post dinner, and you can't go wrong.More
Really impressed with the new line-up at Altro Zafferano. I've been before for their ala carte menu (which is also super great!) but this time decided to try the new Journey Menu. I think the goal was to bring diners on a journey through Italy,...and I definitely enjoyed the trip! The star dishes for me were Fishermen Perks (all things sea urchin for me, please!), Pasta Mista (such a cool idea and incredible broth) and Ancient Panna Cotta (there's a hidden surprise you will LOVE). My friend raved about the wine pairings, though I didn't try those myself. The chef stopped by the table a few times to present the dishes and gave some interesting backstories - always a nice touch! The ambiance is hard to beat and the views are some of the best in SG. Get ready for a photo op! Great date night spot if you're really looking to 'wow' someone! Can't wait to go back soon!More
My family hosted a party last month and the whole experience was amazing. The waiters and managers are so accommodating and responded to every single one of our needs and executed it to perfection! The food and ambiance were great and not to forget the...amazing view. Highly recommend this location if you want to plan a party!More
I had the best dining experience this week at Altro 🥰 The waiters were amazingly friendly. My main course the cod fish was so fresh! Cooked and seasoned really well, it gave me the ‘melt in your mouth’ feeling which was incredible. The Alaska king...crab pasta my husband had was so flavourful and not greasy at all. I certainly recommend this place to couples for the ambience, taste, price & prompt service. 10/10 will come backMore
The bar offers better views than the restaurant. Views of the skyline were obstructed by the garden outside even though our seats were by the window, thus view was not great. Food is cooked well. However, more thought should be put into a diet for...pescatarian. I took the set menu and chose all the seafood items only to find that all dish comes with ingredients that have been whipped into a creamy paste or swimming in cream sauce eg the eel seems to have been grinded and made into a frothy paste. You can see from the pics all the cream that made me so sick after the third dish. When i feedback to the Manager who asked for our feedback, he did not hear me out but gave me a ridicule look and told me all the dishes i chose are made with different ingredients. If you choose the beef items like my partner did, then you would have more varied ways of preparation and not cringe at the thought of cream afterwards. Total bill was sgd400+ a waste of moneyMore
This place is absolutely spectacular, great food, especially the Oscietra Caviar with Urchin Ice Cream and Red Prawn Waffle, it’s very sophisticated, never tried before anything like that. The staff is super friendly, amazing atmosphere and of course great view of Singapore.
Great view . Polite service . Portions are dismally small . The portions look straight out of Kid’s Menu ! Substance has to match Style & provide Value for Money . I have met Italians who are hearty eaters & the portion of Ravioli served...could pass off as Amuse !!More
Wonderful three course lunch - perfect amount of food and value for money. Great location, breathtaking view and courteous staff. Would recommend coming towards the end of lunch period - 12:40 or 12:45, that's when it's less busy and the atmosphere is serene and enjoyable.
Great service, great food, amazing view at night, had dinner with husband here, Like the feeling of relaxing with a drink and admiring the view, I think we will be back again and agian .
Well deserved 5 stars - great food selection, spectacular views and delightful service. We had a dinner inside and post dinner drinks at rooftop bar. Definitely will be back again soon
Altro Zafferano - one of my favorite restaurants in Singapore. The last time I was a guest of this wonderful place on New Year's Eve. I remember the very attentive staff and the Chef's delicious dishes. The cocktails were of a very high level as...usual. This was my first visit after the renovation. I was delighted with the open kitchen and the new interior in general. Separately I would like to praise for the beautiful cutlery and plates. Highly recommend this stupendous restaurant!More
Altro Zafferano, Collyer Quay: Bae night. AZ bar is cookie cut for romance. Post renovation, that postcard panorama of electric-lit Marina Bay Sands and the gorgeous surrounds like Singapore Flyer is now enhanced by romantic red-lit sultry columns and dim lights. It’s got to be...one of the most romantic spots in Singapore for the lovey dovey evening. "Rum and smoke”, whilst solid in presentation with wisps of smoke with bell jar lifted, tastes like a drink left out in the cold long - flat and uninspiring. Thank God the views and ambience tipped the otherwise off-kilter scales. #eatstylishtravelstylishMore
