Ha I g seen the Putu Piring story on Instagram I wanted to visit when in Singapore. We tried the Gula Malaka ones, the chocolate ones and we also tried rojak. It was fascinating to watch the putu Piring being made. Gula Malaka was a...winner for me.More

On the main Haig Road hawkers market. Definitely worth a visit just to try these little savoury rice cakes 👍🏼 that were featured on the Netflix series, especially after eating the spicy offerings around.

We drove all the way from the west to the east just to have this putu piring speaks volume. Fluffy and fresh from the steamer, the gula melaka within melts and created one of the best snacks found in Singapore. Netflix even featured them and...I would say that this is a must-try for all visitors. Classic Singapore styled street food at its best!More

The putu piring were made fresh, assembled and steamed in the spot. For $2.50 SGD, you get 5, which is a good deal. The coconut flavor is delicious. I saw the owner in a documentary in Street Foods on Netflix, and I met her in...person.More

The texture of the flour is very good and light. The gula melaka is nice but not enough for me. Heard you can ask for more and they will oblige. No queue at 2 p.m.

Had watched the Singapore episode of Street Food on Netflix which featured this dish and happened to chance upon the stall in Geylang Serai so decided to try it. The warm, steamed cakes with liquid gula melaka combined with the cold, grated coconut was a...taste sensation. As I have not had putu piring before, am not sure how it compares with other stalls.More

As a local Singaporean, I strongly recommend anyone to try this on the spot. No packing home, the fresh shredded coconut, and the gula Melaka sticky hot melting in your first bite. I stay nearby, so my gf always buy one packet $2 contain 5...pieces and we share together less sinful :) as Park Place is opening up soon, distance from Paya Lebar MRT walking towards will be nearer and faster :).More

A fair walk from the MRT station but worth every sweaty step! They are so soft and lovely. We saw their segment on the Netflix show ‘street food’ and knew we had to try them. They are best eaten hot!

This is the Malay version of the Kuah tutu, the putu piring. Both snacks are very traditional Singaporean street food. The putu piring has palm sugar inside as fillings while the Chinese versions has coconut or peanuts. This stall has been here for a Long...time and the putu piring always taste good and fluffy. But have to eat it while it’s hot to fully comprehend the texture and taste, just like the Chinese Kuah tutu.More

I went to the recently opened Bedok Market-East Village branch. As is located in aircon area, prices for each putu piring are higher at sgd$0.30 compared to the stall at haig road. I like its fluffy and gula malacca taste, but not a taste /flavour...that will make me crave for more. Thus i do not understand why the hype of it.More
