Located in a mall at the back of a Japanese fish store, this eating-place serves fresh and delicious dishes at a moderate price for Singapore. I had a dinner of soft-shell crab, miso soup, tempura and maki. The broth was light and tasty, in the tempura dish, a beautiful sesame leaf had been battered.

This place you would need to come in earlier to queue for a table over the weekends as they do not take bookings/reservations. Ambience is so so and the air conditioning is really cold. The quality of sashimi served is of average quality but priced at quite an expensive price. Staff attention and alertness can be improved. Good for family... More

Of course, we cannot compare the standard to the sashimi we have in japan itself, but in terms of singapore, I think it's good enough. Prices, though not cheaper compared to the typical Japanese restaurant chains here in Singapore, it's still pretty competitive.

Fresh, fresh and yes, fresh! This is NOT your fine-dining sushi bar - more like a family dining place if you are looking for something homey and casual. The selection of sakana (Japanese fish) is good and very fresh. The menu is extensive enough for the whole family. Big PLUS: it is very affordable and good value for money.

I like the chirashi bento. It has the best seafood mixes compared to MOF and Sake Sushi. The rest of food was good also

I've visited many times and now recently took a friend along. The salmon is always great and fresh. Sesame sauce tofu is really good but the sauce is from a bottle that they sell at their mart. The sushi is average and the California maki roll is really good. Some items are fairly priced while some are overpriced but still... More

I am quite pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of sashimi and sushi served at Sakuraya (West Coast Plaza). Ordered a sushi platter, negitoro roll, zaru soba, potato croquette... The negitoro is not the best in the world (compared with Sakari, Nogawa... but it is not the same price too!), for the price I paid I am satisfied with... More

Considering this is a "fish mart", the food and fish here are of a low quality. Sashimi is average and overpriced . Sushi doesn't look appetizing . The cooked food looks very different from the menu pictures Service is equally poor and nonchalant

I've visited this restaurant twice so far. Back in May I walked past this place and saw huge bouquets of flowers lined outside the windows. Curious to see what was going on, I popped in to see that this restaurant had recently been refurbished and they had just had their grand re-opening. As soon as I saw uni (sea urchin,... More

The newly renovated fish market/restaurant looks good as the old place needed a facelift. My lunch with my wife there was somewhat a let down. We went there on Sunday at about 11:30+ am before the lunch rush but still service was quite slow. Seems like they were short staffed with only 2-3 servers for an enlarged dining space. I... More
