During our family vacation in Santiago, we tried many ethnic restaurants, and Tambo was among the best. Of course, we had to try the Pisco Sour, and it was superb. The Yucca Stuffed with Cheese was the perfect appetizer. For dinner, we chose Andean Rice with Chicken (Arroz con Pollo), Aji de Gallina (a Peruvian classic), and Rice with Peruvian... More

I'm not sure they get the message. Their food is fantastic but their service is awful. It took me 15 minutes before they took my order, then 20 minutes before I get my glass of wine. My empty plate took 10 minutes to be removed, bad attitude, etc.etc. Previous reviews are right. Good food terrible service. Their team should organise... More

had 3 types of empanadas ... prawn, chicken & beef for snack lunch, washed down with Spanish cava. Beef empanada was the best.

Despite being located in a shopping mall, it is indeed an authentic Peruvian restaurant. Honest, comfort food at reasonable prices.

The restaurant is in the Lastarria neighborhood surrounded by other restaurants. Relatively small inside, it has chairs on the sidewalks. The restaurant has Peruvian features, so you will find several dishes of this origin, such as seafood. What do you need to know? The restaurant has a larger branch in the Bellavista neighborhood. Do not forget to try the Peruvian... More

The menu looked nice and there weren't many customers inside so my husband and I decided to eat here one evening. However, after receiving the menus, no one came to take our order (for drinks or food) even though we had been waiting over 20 minutes. I didn't think there was any excuse for this as the two waiting staff... More

A Chilean told me that if you want a really good meal in Santiago, find a Peruvian restaurant. Tambo turned out to be good, but not great. Fried octopus was very chewy, but tasty. The ceviche was fresh and delicious. Picante shrimp were ok but not spicy.

We had 4 different dishes recommended by a Peruan colleague. Ceviche was really good and authentic. Main courses were both meat and seafood accompanied with rice. We all share and enjoyed our late afternoon time there. Staff and service were fast to serve and solicitous.

We have just returned from the Lastarria sector of Santiago, where we had dinner two nights in a row. Unfortunately our second experience, at TAMBO, was not a very good one. The food was adequate at most, the ceviche was bland, the arroz con pollo a sad approximation of the traditional Peruvian chicken cooked with the rice (in this case... More

There are a plethora of great restaurants around Lastarria. This is not one of them. The dishes were very, very odd, and just not very nice. The beef was well cooked, but accompanied by a weird shrimp rice pudding. The salad came with plantain crisps mixed in amongst the lettuce and a frankly horrible passion fruit dressing. The only positive:... More
