This is a Santiago tradition. A very simple sit at the counter or stand when it's crowded place. The sandwiches are mammoth. We're talking a two handed job. I had a churrasco filet with avocado and tomatos. Delicious! The bread was the perfect texture. The filet was juicy and tender and falling out the sides. This a meal! The wait... More

Very crowded restaurant. I didn't see any tourists aside from me and my girlfriend. I've ordered a lomito sandwich with mayo and she got a churrasco sandwich with cheese. Both superb and very reasonable priced.

I recommend trying this place if you are looking for a unique Chilean perspective on burgers! Be weary that it will be challenging to communicate with the staff of you do not speak Spanish (like us gringos), but they do have a English menu available. Before you go make sure you know what you want by checking the website (needs... More

Our experience was so frustrating, we took a metro specially to go there and we ended being served by a lady called "Carmem", that was so stupid, providing a bad service, almost as if she was doing us a favor, made everything even worse. We got a sandwich with beef and pork mixed, $4.2usd, (we thought that it was going... More

This is a crazy work dining environment, but well worth it for the delicious food. The place always seems to be packed so you just get in line behind someone who is actively dining and wait for them to finish. When they get up from their stool you can take the next spot. In any case, everyone seems to go... More

Excellent, the concept of how the food is prepared in front of your eyes, the fresh ingredients, charismatic cooks and the whole atmosphere is one of our best experiences in Santiago. Be aware that you might have troubles finishing their well endowed sandwiches, but your mouth will be full with rich flavored, and you will have sufficient fuel to continue... More

I ordered the churrasco con palta (beef with avocado) and it was just great. It costs 5 mil Chilean peso.

As a regular traveler to Santiago, Fuente Alemana is a must go place for me to balance other top notch restaurants that I go for business dinners during my week of travel. Food is excellent, juicy meat sandwiches, and friendly service; Simple and unpretentious but still, magnificent and delicious. It's a place that gives you a true sense of locals,... More

I visited this place off peak times, (6:30PM) so it was not very busy. I easily got a seat. Menu is 100% spanish, which is not really a surprise at this kind of place. You really should be coming in here knowing generally what you want. The waitress spoke no english but she was very helpful and patient with me... More

To be fair I would give a 4.5. We loved our lunch at Fuente Alemana! A bustling sandwich shop with counter seating around a busy cook top with some wall bar seats and standing room. The ladies making the sandwiches are incredibly helpful and nice. Especially since I had no idea how to order when I got there. Here's how... More
