I am a well travelled businessman and i often wonder why owners of establishments do not always take clues from reviews. I hope this will make a difference. This restaurant nestled of a quiet street in the old city is an explosion of all senses until you are served very expensive food that are at best bland. The interesting fact... More

This restaurant is located in a funky old mansion in the historic district. The walls are covered with the owner's art collection, with varying themes and styles in each room. Instead of picking a bottle of wine from a list, the owner offers you a tour of the house and a walk through his wine cellar. Amazing collection. Great setting... More

My husband and I had Christmas Eve dinner here so the menu was set. We may have enjoyed it more had we been able to select our meal. We had made a reservation for 6:30 and when we showed up were told that dinner wasn't starting until 7:30 and that we should walk around the neighborhood until then. It wasn't... More

Definitely worth a visit! The walls are covered in artworks, and every surface contains some kitsch object, or a bottle of wine. After choosing our mains we were invited into the wine cellar to choose our wine. Then given a tour of the artworks. It was an intimate, quirky, warm and friendly experience. The food was standard simple fare but... More

It was pretty quiet on a Tuesday night, so we got lots of attention from our gracious host. The wine cellar was a bit daunting, especially since we did not want to drink that much - we had a half bottle of recent vintage red from Argentina that was great. The food was quite OK, but go for the experience,... More

Why we were the only people in this restaurant in October I cannot figure out. The food was excellent, the wine cellar beyond comparison. The host could not have been more friendly.

The restaurant decor lives up to the descriptions - interesting artwork covering the walls and a wonderful selection of wine. The service was impeccable - the host is an eccentric friendly man and the waiter was attentive. However it may be because it was off season but the food was mediocre and expensive. The starters were almost all seafood (my... More

This is certainly the best place in Quito. The food is up there with other top restaurants, but the wine cellar and the ambiance is what sets it apart from the rest. Service is truly impeccable, a must go place if you visit our capital.

This is a very unique restaurant. This is a former home FILLED with famous art work, a great selection of wines, and antiques. The owner gave us a tour of the entire restaurant and insisted we take photos in all the various rooms. He is a very warm and welcoming man and made our diining experience wonderful. Food was very...
