This restaurant is quite elegant, nice decor, fresh roses at the table. The food was uneven. Starters were superb - shrimp ceviche offered with popcorn, a hearty quinoa soup. But we chose a main course which was not impressive - roast pork with sour sauce...More

Dining at Theatrum with its red curtains felt very regal. The food and wine fits this feeling and the service too was excellent.

I asked several people in Quito where we should eat for a good, but fairly reasonable meal. Everyone's first recommendation was Theatrum. In the historical center, Theatrum is on the second floor of a building on a plaza. I didn't notice if they had an...More

Dinner started with empanadas, tamales, heart of palm salad, Chicken medallions in a blueberry sauce with Andean blue cheese stuffed ravioli and beef tenderloin ending with chocolate soufflé and tropical fruits and sorbet. There was loud music on the...More

I liked it a lot, it was a cozy place and it is great to go with a small group of friends, I would recommend to go at night since the view will be great.

After a tour of the equator monument, and a 3 hour walking tour of old town Quito, we were ready for a late lunch. (around 3 pm) We walked to the Theatrum, and were pleasantly surprised. The soups, and cerviche were excellent. The service was...More

Went with my family. Service was slow and inconsistent. The shrimp with avocado and tomato was amazing. I had the lamb and it was cold in the center. So cold I had to send it back. They do provide courtesy taxi back to your hotel.

We were in Quito with my parents (father who is in his mid 70's suffering from altitude sickness and CAD) so it was hard to walk around. We struggled to find the restaurant (it's on the 2nd floor of the theater) and a very nice...More

The service was dreadful, the place noisy, and the food adequate to poor. Maybe it was just an off night, but unfortunately it was our off night

This restaurant was literally right around the corner from our hotel. Due to a little sketchiness in the area the restaurant sent a person over to walk us from our hotel to the restaurant which was much appreciated. The food was fantastic. We had the...More

Description
Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor of Sucre National Theater, Cultural Patrimony from the XIX century, an expression of renaissance classicism. In the entire second floor it is located the most important restaurant in Quito, THEATRUM Restaurant & Wine Bar that offers an extraordinary menu of the vanguard Mediterranean cuisine. One of our emblematic dishes is the Grilled tender octopus with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, garlic tossed in pesto vinaigrette. Our classic Ecuadorian prawns on the grill with avocado mousse and tomato fondue.
