2$ the cappuccino clearly made out of instant cappuccino powder (when I tried to understand why - I was expecting a broken machine or another sensible reason - the waitress said it to my face with no shame at all) and an unfriendly staff that doesn't care about it. I clearly do not see the point in paying for such... More

We walked all around Cuenca looking for a place to rent some bikes for the day. Stopped in about a dozen bike sales and sports stores to inquire whether they rented bikes or knew of a place that did...no luck. Finally went on line and found a second floor cafe that claimed to have some; Casa do Brazil. It didn't... More

The service was very good but the food left alot to be desired. Adequate portions but not served very hot, plate presentation was nonexistent.

I've read many of the reviews for Casa do Brasil and none of them really surprise me. It's a favourite place of my husband and I, not because there's something so shockingly good about it or because it's so unusual, but it just has an indefinable something. It's almost always quiet when we go in (we like to head there... More

We had the set menu which was very tasty. The portions were small but adequate, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it. The bean soup had cheese in it which worked really well, the chicken and tomato and the beef casserole were nice alternatives to grilled meats and came with rice, corgettes and salad. For desert... I am not sure what to expect from this place. We visited Casa do Brasil on one quiet weekend. Most of the shops were closed the day and we were glad that the cafe was open for business. We hoped that we could find a little Brazilian community in Cuenca. We ordered some drinks. I asked for caipirinha. But, they... More

let's not mince words; do not, i repeat, do not waste your money here on a capaccino. horribly sweet and total milk, no coffee. i could not comment on whether the coffee is any good as their appears to be none, only sugar and milk. the same can be said about cafe austria except their coffee is bitter and old,... Thankfully we found this place when looking for somewhere to rent a bike for a trip south to Zamora. The staff were very helpful (i left a bag with no problems) and the bike great. I popped in to return the bike and have a bite to eat-the food was very tasty and it was the perfect spot to while... More

Despite being one of the world's largest coffee exporters, anyone spending any significant amount of time in Ecuador knows that the local idea of coffee as a beverage is often severely lacking (Nescafe instant, anyone?). Casa do Brasil was a pleasant surprise for my coffee connoisseur companion. I had read the reviews and invited her for a coffee this afternoon.... More

I love this place. The coffee is fantastic, the menu is unique and the staff makes you feel welcome. The tables are set in front of tall second floor windows which make for excellent people-watching below. Cuenca has a ton of fast food spots but very few places designed for lingering. Wifi, games, music, a great place to study or... More
