The Santa Cruz Fish Market is right across the street from El Chocolate. When we saw the great lobsters at the Fish Market, we wanted to enjoy them. We asked the hostess at El Chocolate if they would cook the lobsters and add some sides and they were happy to do so! What service! They charges us $15 per person... More

We ate there a couple of time for Almuerzos. It s a little more expensive than the typical one (6 USD instead of 4 usually) but you get so much more quality: typically a nice soup but the main is usually great, a well grilled fish and usually an very yummy desert (we had brownie, cake...). You dont usually get... More

Wanting a light lunch, I ordered their tuna sandwich. It was literally chopped up, put on hamburger bun, with lettuce & tomato. Menu posted $5.50 but waiter insisted $10. Coffee was gross! Undrinkable. Location across from fish dock is great, but don't bother eating/dining here!

We eat in El Chocolate for a few days as it was part of our trip package. The dinner here was definitely the worst moment of the day. The food was always the same Fish&Rice quite dry. The personnel of this restaurant was rude and we had to negotiate everyday to get a dessert which we did not receive most... More

Good food very homey. Large portions. Could deal with vegan menu's as well such as rice risotto. Would go back.

As part of our tour package we ate lunch and dinner here every day. The food was decent and you can upgrade your meal if needed. Most of the beef was tough/

This was the host restaurant if our tour. Excellent food with local flavor. Service is acceptable. But after having ate here for eight meals or so, you will want a change.

A reasonable breakfast but I'm sure there are better places. Had the America without the meat. Coffee is ok. Watching the action accross the road when the fishermen return passes the time.

The food was cold, the owner was very rude and unfair. I went with my sisters and friends. We ordered Lobster and we were given different prices each time. When we brought up the inconsistency the owner gave us a bad attitude and over charged us. We asked for butter and we waited over 30 minutes because they needed to... More
