The chef and owner is quite a character, he proposes what he calls pre-Inka cuisine. He has researched the ingredients and cooking techniques that would be available in ancient andean culture and applys it to his kitchen. Very interesting and delicious food, and personal adaptations of popular dishes that you will not find in any typical food restaurants as far... More

I knew this place thanks to the free walking tour in Arequipa and Walter was so charming that I came back with two girls to taste his food. It was one of the best culinary experience of my life. Thank you Walter, for your love and your food!

Service is chaotic. Ordered ceviche as a starter and was delivered together with the main courses. Spoiled the whole meal. The taste of the ceviche was good, but some pieces were hard as rubber. The alpaca was very good. But the duck specialty again was disappointing as well as the side dishes.

They give us access to the rooftop and a tour of the kitchen as part of the Free Walking Tour. The owner was very passionate about what he does. He cooked some lomo de alpaca for us and gave every one a sample. It was amazing to see that he cooks it right on the coals. The kitchen was very... More

I can't believe the negative comments that I read about this place! The chef is a magician of the pre-inca food, everything is cooked in traditional pots and oven (he made us visit the kitchen which was fun too) with no artificial grease or oil, and the restaurant is specialized in ceviches and alpaca steaks. The portions are huge too,... More

During a free walking tour, we visited the restaurant. Real traditional old Inka-cuisine. We tasted a small piece of llama and decided to come back later that evening. The food was really nice, but it took quite some time before it arrived. Definitely worth a visit.

We were introduced to the restaurant on a free walking tour. The owner and Chef is a real character and made our dinner an unforgettable experience! He introduced himself and the concept of the restaurant to us. We had Guinea pig and duck. The food took some time, but it was worth the wait. We will still be talking about... More

I had the alpaca and it was delicious. Its a little bit more expensive than neighbouring restaurants, but the food is sensational. Cooked without oil, onions, garlic and many other things the way they did it over a thousand years ago.

How can I find the words to express how wonderful this place is? We let Walter, the owner (& tonight we had the pleasure to have him serve us as well), suggest our dishes. He not only let us in the kitchen to see his magical hands at work with the food, but also shared his wisdom about the city... More
