We were staying in the neighborhood so this was a convenient restaurant within walking distance. The cerviche starter was very good though my wife thought it was a bit too spicy. Surprisingly, their wine inventory was much less than they listed. They had no Sauvignon Blanc despite the fact that 3 were listed on the wine list. We settled for... More

Having been recommended this restaurant, and after checking the trip advisor ratings I decided to spend one of my precious meals in Lima here.... to cut the story short it's not worth it. The place is small and quaint, a place where you can really enjoy a conversation. In addition servers are very attentive and try to make sure that... More

This restaurant was around the corner from where we were staying, so we walked over, which was clearly quite convenient. There was a club next door (down the alley), so we were concerned upon arrival, since we were late (over 15 minutes) due to traffic from the airport. No worries -- there were lots of tables and the hostess still... More

Hello Dcr1837, Thank you for your visit and for your review. You had 2 of our most favorite childhood comfort food dishes, We carry them in our DNA. The Ají de Gallina, a classic in all our kitchens, has only one recipe, but every cook has a special ingredient. And, of course, our Peruvian Lomo Saltado: such a delicate plate,... More

What a lovely place. We arrived quite early for our table but it was no problem, we were shown to our table in the courtyard area and it really was lovely. We ordered pisco sours, which were delightful and then we ordered our food. Throughout our visit Ivan was outstanding and offered advice on what he thought we would like... More

Probably the best food. My girlfriend loved it so much she ordered two desserts. Great cocktails, service and outstanding food.

I would describe our meal as comfort food served with flair. Every dish packed a punch providing big flavours. The dishes had a home cooked quality but were presented with style. We sat outside in a delightful little garden area enjoying a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent and we were grateful for the guidance from our waitress when... More

We were in Lima on our way to Machu Picchu when we stopped at Saqra for lunch in early February 2017. The restaurant is a small place, but clean and well laid out. It has a patio area and we took advantage of that for our lunch. We tried the scallops with Parmesan cheese and the pork special. Both were... More

Good morning Michael, Thank you for your comment. The scallops are quite delicate. The trick is to use 2 salty cheeses and orange instead of lime. The pork, a breakfast dish from Arequipa, is marinated in the adobo sauce por 6 hours. Glad to see you liked our restrooms. Have a nice day, Joaquín SAQRA More

This is a great place located off-the-beaten-path pedestrian ally. A great cocktail list paired with a diverse menu of fusion cuisine in a welcoming environment with friendly and welcoming staff. A place I would definitely return to when visiting Lima again.

Loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the food. The look of the restaurant caught me eye before the menu did. The staff was also very friendly and did have english speaking waiters. I had the osso bucco and it was delicious. Really great way to treat yourself to some peruvian food. Its off the main drag but worth looking... More

Description
Saqra, from the Quechua language meaning “little devil”, “naughty” or “mischief maker”. Saqra also refers to one of the characters found in the festival of the Madonna of Carmen in the village of Paucartambo, Cusco. Here, this happy little devil wins the heart of the Madonna with his childish pranks and mischief making as he dances around her playfully in the procession. These ideas inspired the creation of Saqra as a restaurant bar that offers modern Peruvian food where we reinterpret the Peruvian identity in a playful and contemporary key, conjuring up fun and colourful results. Saqra, in essence, is not really a place but a state of mind where this little devil plays a delightful host who wants that all his guests live a unique experience, where they meet again with their the inner child, sometimes long lost.
