only the name is mexican. Everything else is just non-mexican. It is so poorly lit that it looks like a cold dungeon. Only one waiter for the whole restaurant. There is no heating place. Even while ordering food the menu is snatched from your hands just like its a diamond. DO NOT EVER VISIT

It's pretty unassuming as reataurants go but is at best to be viewed as a friendly neighborhood joint that serves good Mexican food which is surprisingly not very common in the city. Typical options we usually order include sope, Mexican eggs, tortillas all served with Mexican salsa and frijoles. Little pricey for the place but makes up in taste and... More

Service and quality are top notch, but this is by far the priciest Mexican food place I've ever visited. Sorry to say, you don't get what you pay for.

I'm not a big fan of really spicy food. However, every dish we had at Lupita was so bland, I felt the need to add hot sauce to make it vaguely Mexican. They happily brought it, and we had a good meal. I was very surprised when I saw a charge of 50 pesos for the little tin of sauce.... More

I love la lupita! Mainly because I'm a huge fan of mexican food and it's the only place in Montevideo that offers 100% mexican food. I always ask for Entomatadas! Another strong point is the service, it's excellent.

It's a small place, but it cooks the real stuff. No texmex food here, only truely Mexican food. Strong margeritas. It's a very good service and great drinks and food. Be aware of the chilli.

This mexican restaurant is very authentic and owned by Mexicans. You can see that the food is made with love. The attention is perfect and very fast. They serve nachos instead of bread, and we thought this was a nice touch. It's not expensive. The cheesecake it delicious!!!

When you have to have your Mexican food fix, this is the place. Good food, well prepared, great service. The can prepare your order as spicy or not, as you like it. Great place for a late night break from the local choice of beef. It does not open until 8:30PM and is closed Sunday/Monday. They do close for a... More

If you must have a burrito or taco you should come here. Food is average, drinks too, but you can find Mexican products, Dos Equis beer, and (if you ask for it) a bit of spicy food.
